Hard wiring M emblem on seats to stay illuminated.

Hi All,

Strange question but figured it was worth a shot. Does anyone know which pin from the connector under the seat needs to be removed to accomplish this? I have a new wire with pin but not sure which one needs to be removed from the one under the seat. (There are a bunch, like 14 or so) I received the new wire from Mod_emporium but with no instructions and he isn't responding on insta. Thanks in advance!!

Here is what he messaged me when he sent the wire:

"The Harness ties into the seat connector. You remove a pin from the connector and replace it with ours on each seat connector (Under the seat) and then run the wire about 12 inches to the back of the center console and it connects to a wire in there that powers the center consoles ambient lighting, then you're done"

I would measure the voltage of the emblems when they are turned on to see how much voltage they need. Then find constant power and ground from the seat motor or where ever and splice the emblems to them. They will probably need an extension cable made.

I dont know the exact pin you are asking for but its always better to measure yourself...

I mean, you don't see the badge when you're in the seat, do you?

It should be the gray wire with a purple stripe (not the purple wire with the gray stripe). At least that's how it is on the M2 comp seats, and they're basically the same.

Here's a picture of the driver side harness (car side) with the yellow outer part removed. In this case it's for my non-comp M2 so it's missing the wire, but on yours you should have gray w/ purple in slot 7 where the arrow's pointing:

upload pictures online

I'm guessing you de-pin that, put in your new wiring and then hook that up to whatever source you want for when the lights are on?

We sell a harness for this. Shoot us a message on IG. You dont want them on 24/7. We tie them into the ambient lighting so they are on with unlock still and at night all the time.

There isn't anything about the harness on the site AFAIK, but I messaged them & the harness is $44.99 shipped, I didn't get any pics or explanation as to how it installs

I asked for instructions - was simply told they are included

Don't know what the big secret is? I'm not buying something site unseen & no idea how it installs

?

What would you like to see or know brother? It's a wiring harness.
Literally wires, we source oem pins/parts and wiring that redirects the power to the ambient lighting.

Instructions are included as we have said. What secrets are you referring to?

The installation takes about 5 mins. Unplugging the battery being the longest part of the process.

Because theres no mystery. In fact just the opposite, I went up to the shop at 1am so you can see what the kit actually looks like and includes.

We have about 10 of these kits left until after the holiday this week due to constant supply issues.
These kits are each hand made.

The kits include everything you need to install:

- The wiring to redirect the power to the ambient lighting, complete with oems pins from BMW. (We tried sourcing generic ones but they just don't fit the same in the connector.
- Zip ties to neatly route the wiring along the path of the oem wiring
-Mini screw driver to remove the pins from the oem connector
- heat shrink wrap to cover the oem pin that gets replaced and tucked away.
- Instructions (not pictured)

We have sold these kits behind the scenes for 4 years now with zero issues, everything is also completely reversible if you decide to switch back to oem at any time.

Any questions just ask.
