Consistency is Key - ♛HEX Tuning♛ - ShiftS3ctor

We had a great weekend in Central California with bright blue skies and
crisp cool air, while supporting the HEX Tuning | Stage TWO equipped
BMW M4 owned by Bimmerpost's 1FastS4 at the first ShiftS3ctor
event of the year.

Owner:
1FastS4
Vehicle:
2016 BMW M4 (DCT)
Modifications:
VRSF Downpipes, Stock Exhaust w/ resonator delete, Stock Intake
VF Charge Cooler, Volk Racing TE37 SL's w/ Bridgestone RE71's
eMMOTION Springs
Fueling:
Sunoco GT260R (104 Octane)
6 total runs throughout the day on Sunday, with 5 runs all within
1.5 seconds of each other. 2 separate runs, with different drivers,
miraculously came back with absolutely identical trap speeds...
to the thousandths of a second!

The fastest run of the day for the Austin Yellow M4 (a color which I
must say seems to grow on me the more I see it under clear skies
)
was a 154.1mph in the half mile, while logging a 7.8 second 60-130
on the Vbox.

While our goal for the day was to try and set the "Fastest stock turbo -
1/2 mile record
", it looks like we've still got some work to do in regards
to traction on the airstrip surface. Despite coming up a few MPH short,
there's no doubt that these were ALL blistering quick times for a mildly
modified Stage TWO car, with stock fueling! (No Meth, No Port-Injection)

We can't wait to see what the next event brings!

- VF / HEX Tuning Crew

Nice runs and consistency. Isn't 104 octane greater than what you could get with E85 and direct port though?

Thanks schnell!

The Lamborghini is a Huracan LP 610-4 with our VF Engineering -
VF800 Supercharger System. The system is direct bolt on,
controlled entirely by the factory ECU, and produces 800HP and
610TQ at the crank.
("wheel" numbers put it right around 630-640HP and 510-520TQ)

We brought the car along to test a new exhaust configuration and
to gather some mid-range performance data. The Huracan's best
run of the day was 174.3mph, with a 5.6 second 60-130.

It will have a similar effective octane rating / knock threshold as running full
E85 if that's what you're referring to.

The results though were with our full production Stage TWO Software file,
which means we're not necessarily taking advantage of the higher grade fuel
for the purpose of making more power. Data-logging throughout the day
showed the car using every bit of calibrated ignition timing, and boost
management was spot on with requested load.

The point was to show the results with an "off the shelf" product, and to
demonstrate that these results are achievable with a similar modification
path, and without the need to add methanol or port injection.

The allure of E85 is that it's a "cheap" alternative to expensive race fuels,
but the ability to run full E85 is still not possible without a fuel system
upgrade. With any of our Stage Levels you can pump or pour in proper high
octane oxygenated/unleaded fuels when you show up at the track without
the need for any 3rd party control units or additional supporting modifications.

Like always the guys from Vf Engineering were beyond supportive this weekend and I feel like we turned in some good times.

The launch technique I've used at the drag strip works really well on a prepared surface with lots of rubber, but I think we just underestimated the surface conditions at Coalinga. There's definitely no lack of power as the car pulled hard and smooth when it did hook up, with torque to spare at the top of each shift. If I can get a clean launch and grip through my 1-2 shift and 2-3 shift, I think we'll be in the high 150's with the exact same power level.

The next event will for sure be in warmer weather so I just ordered the VF/CSF Heat Exchanger as well. Can't wait to get back out there and take the car even faster!
