Aside from @NYG's NASA event, are there forum members confirmed for any event listed below? Does the list exclude any worthwhile events in the NE that I should consider? I could be easily influenced by FOMO if others are signed up.

I'll need to cash in my 401k because I already spent my kids' college money.

I know the f8x has some issues with the crank hub, charge pipes cracking, top mount cooler leaking coolant internally But in all seriousness do you all enjoy it as a track car / weekend street car?
I went to a C7Z06 after my M4CS and now I'm in an R8.

I can tell you that I genuinely miss my M4CS and would still prefer to get another one and focus it for the track. The main reason why is because I felt connected to that car more than any other. It was BY FAR the most driver friendly car I've ever been in and it was so forgiving at the limit. The C7Z was much faster and had a ridiculous amount of grip compared to the M4 but at the limit it's a very very delicate car that requires a lot of skill/experience to manage and I don't say that because I crashed it; I just noticed that I couldn't beat and throw it into corners the way I did the BMW.

It is an ideal track/street car and I've never met anyone with a crankhub failure on a stock engine - it's pretty much exclusive to tuned cars. It's certainly more street focused than track as opposed to the 1LE which is more track than street.

My biggest complaint and why I got rid of it was because I made the mistake of getting the MP HAS Lowering Springs "Suspension" instead of a real suspension setup and the stock brakes were atrocious for me. At the time I just decided instead of investing more into it, that I'd get the C7Z - slap some hoosiers on it and go hard and it was the right decision for what I was doing. The C7Z is ready to rip up tracks from the factory and I loved that car very much but it didn't fit the way I drive the same way the BMW did regardless of how much faster it was.

The R8 is incredible but I'm paranoid of destroying it (even with the insurance). I've already got a huge rock blast in my front windshield and some PPF tears that got a little paint. Still has a soft factory suspension like all German cars do.

Ideally I want to keep my R8 for some occasional track days and have an F82 pure track car but I'll probably do something stupid and get rid of both for an 812 Competizione.

The 1LE is a better track car, without a doubt. If you're comfortable in one and can push it to the limit then you really won't find a better car for the track.
I'm with you LRG twin, wouldn't mind buying back that CS if prices ever get reasonable again or GTS

AutoBahn Club October 17th, Full Track!

Chicago PCA just opened an event at the AutoBahn Club on Monday October 17th, Full Track! It's on ClubRegistration.Net

I've registered for the event with the M3. It's open to all marquee's.

Hope to see some of you there.

Yes, registered and looking forward to the weekend. BadgerBimmers put on a great event.

There are also some Advanced spots open on Thursday Sept 22 at Road America. I'll be at that one too.

That's a pretty cool 3-Day event. I need to look closer at that.

Thinking about doing NJMP on thursday. Would be my first time and says progressive paced laps - beginner. Is that a good starting spot or should I be specifically looking for a BMWCCA or PCA event? (was told this previously)

If this is your first time - I think so!

I actually started tracking with one of these NJMP hosted events (lightning though).

You're not going to be able to push 100% but it got me really motivated into continuing the journey and learning more.

The only thing annoying about that event is NJMP will attempt to get you to join their drivers club a few times.

I've got the car on jacks right now preparing for Watkins Glen October 7-9 (NASA NE)

I typically can't do any weekday events because of work.

I saw that event. WGI still scares the shit out of me. Those walls are close man! If they do a beginner class maybe I’ll sign up. Only live once.

HPDE1 is available but it's sold out right now. The best part is that half the kids with the Toyota track day coupon will bail.

E-mail Suzan and get on the waitlist ASAP!

HPDE1 is with an instructor and the cars are moving at a much slower pace. As long as you have track insurance you're golden!

Im attending a 2-day HPDE at Atlanta Motorsports Park next weekend (Sept. 24-25). UPS just showed up with some parts so this weekend is prepping the car for track duty.

There are 21 people in my run group and AMP isn't that long so Im expecting the same "Atlanta traffic" on the track as we have on our highways...

21 on 2 miles is a lot unless lap times are really close. Hopefully AMP has passing zones in more than one area of the track.

The novice group has four passing zones (T1-T2; T6-T8; T13-T15; T16-T1). Best I can measure it is roughly 0.75 miles of passing zone total in those four zones. I believe most other Intermediate to Advanced groups can pass anywhere you want, even mid corner.

LMK if you head up to norcal! Not a ton of great tracks for socal are there? I don't love Buttonwillow, it's such a dust bowl

Yeah it's all dust here, but plenty of choices! Buttonwillow, Willow Springs, Auto Club Speedway, Adams Motorsports Park, Thermal Club.

I was supposed to go to Laguna last month, but the car was down. Hopefully next year.

Hey guys, last HPDE of the season for us here in the Midwest at AutoBahn CC this Monday, October 17th. PCA is running the full track course.

I'm the ONLY BMW M-Car at the event. Someone come out and join me getting point-byes from all these Porsche's.
