Why are you getting dealer quotes? VT motorworks will do this for a much more reasonable amount, call them. They are doing my ohlins install in a couple of weeks.

The total price is $3,525 when the dealership does the work. You can purchase the parts and pay for the labor directly on the BMW website. You even get to choose the specific dealership you'd like to do the work so theoretically you could still pick Peter Pan BMW for this price. Install alone is $1,935 for the indicated 4.5 hours of labor.

Also, if you're a CCA member you'll get an additional 10% off parts and labor so it should cost about $3,173 before taxes ($1741 for install only).

It should be less than $400 at most shops in the Bay Area

The official BMW factory install directions quoted install time 4.5 hours.

Back when I bought mine, suspension cost $1200.

Independent install quotes minimum 10hours of labor for around $1600-2400.

I couldn't comprehend paying more to install
it and I also couldn't comprehend paying ten+ hours for labor when the BMW factory install fact sheet states it takes 4.5 hours actual labor.

So…. I went DYI.
And…….. It took my slow ass two fucking days.

Fun little project… sure but next time I'm paying the shop.

Thanks for the info. The dealership even added a cost for an alignment and then another additional cost to adjust the coilovers.

If I get someone else to install the m performance suspension, do you think I’d get a problem from the dealership for any suspension related warranty issues?

The whole reason I think I want to go with mps is because I paid for a 7 yr extended warranty and don’t want to get effed if any problems with the suspension or related arise.

Do you remember who you spoke with at BMW of SF?
Mind if I name drop so they can match the price of what they offered you?

Any pics of the car? Would love to see!

Ah yes Peter Pan, they told me the M3 uses special oil so an oil change is like $250 or some garbage.

Won't be going back there unless they are offering free Swedish massage

You might consider getting your suspension installed at Elite performance which is close by.

BMW SF changed owners last year, and since then prices on pretty much everything have gone through the roof. I really want to give them my business, but I can't find a good reason to.

If you ask your service advisor for the "value oil" you can get it done for about $180. Not sure about the difference in the oil used, but my car worked just as well till the next oil change. Now I just get it done at an Indy closer to me in SF.

Anyone get their M Performance Suspension installed at a BMW dealer and does the dealer do the i-level software update on the car detailed in the instructions? shopbmwusa.com is showing suspension install at $840 at a dealer in my area.

Install shouldn't be more than $450, which includes 4 wheel alignment post install.
