Like the seats too, but as said earlier I prefer the more understated //M on the e9X headrest leather. The insert is a little cheesy

Not particularly special...
...but I hadn't expected else. Just an F30/F32 interior with some M-badges and M seats.

In regards to the "you act like..." there's been a lot of downgrades in how communicative the F series cars are vs earlier BMW but one thing they have improved on ( 5,6,7 X-series ) is the interior ambience. The pictures in this thread are just showing a very plain sea of greys and plastic looking trim.

Here's an example from the M6 with black interior and CF trim which is IMO way more appealing. Hopefully it's just the general over exposure of the M3 pix that causes everything to wash out and the leather is actually black and CF + Alcantara trim will be available.

Don't base your judgements on what you see in these spy shots. I'm sure that the production model will have various leather colors (as well as cloth, probably), several trim options from the factory, as well as trim options from the dealer -- just like the E9XM had. Likewise, just like the E9XM, we'll likely see updated trim and stitching options well into the F8X's lifecycle in the form of special edition models.

Ugly seats. Would they allow regular sports seats as an option?

The font on the RPM and Speedometer gauge looks terrible. Like a jeep or something.

It looks like the same font (similar to Helvetica) they've been using for a while now.

^A very odd reaction. The E90/2 M3 wheel is very similar to the regular series wheel except for the stitching and slightly smaller diameter and larger thickness. I'd bet the same is true of the new wheel so your whines seem misplaced.

Thanks for the pics. I wonder if these are standard or optional and if they'll be offered in the US. I prefer the traditional embossed logo to the AMG-style metal one, but this is only a very trivial matter. If the car can recreate the lighter feel of the E46 that was lacking in the E92 then I'll be grabbing one.

My complaint was about the wheel in this generation not the E92 so your reply seems misplaced.

For once I would like to buy an M car from BMW without corners being cut and having to spend thousands on exhausts and performance steering wheels, especially on a car that is supposed to be BMW's pinnacle and most well known car. They can learn a thing or two from AMG and Audi in that regard.

I understand that but what I'm saying is that the steering wheel in the F80/2 will be just as different from the F30 Sport cars as the E46 M3's is from an E46 sport and an E92 M3s is from an E90 M Sports.

Also, you should know that Mercedes Benz charge huge amounts for their performance packages with power bumps and suspension that should be standard and a drive that is rarely as fulfilling as a BMW's. My brother owns a C63 and while it's a nice car, the wheelarches look very odd as they are only flared in the front and the aero aids are far less well assimilated to the car than on an M.

There's no doubt cost is a factor, but I'd argue it's even more so at MB or audi. These cars aren't and never have been 120k, I think for the huge changes made to the regular cars the value is there and the F8x beginning of the weight rebellion will great news once I get mine to laguna seca.

No surprise Just look at JAM3S posts in this section. Just drops in to be negative and troll. No surprise judging by what he's driving (and yes I drive the M3 too).

That dashboard looks cheap and boring (in particular the speedometer and tachometer), especially when compared to the outgoing M3.

The only reason the US didn't get the Performance seats is their lack of side airbags which are required here. These F80 M3 seats look big enough to have airbags in them which means they could be offered here. I hope these seats are standard worlwide.

I really don't like the gauges (minor complaint, I know) but the fact that they don't even have the M badge in them makes me think they aren't the final production gauges.
