Bimmerpost member Lukester casually chasing an F82 around the ring. The E92 is a stripped M3 with cage and other track equipment.

Hauling ass, really? Looks more like he has no intentions of passing the M4 but could in a heartbeat if he tried. Just seems to be following him while he touches his face

Just goes to show how impressive the F8X is. Large improvement over the E9X. I am very happy with this car. Albeit, it does look like the E92 was holding back.

Agreed... the driver of the M4 didn't seem that particularly skilled IMO. He was braking in odd places, he seemed to be unsure of his lines and positioning, etc. Maybe I'm wrong but that's how it looked to me. Besides, the E92 was clearly a track prepped car which makes a huge difference... my E36 M3 which was track prepped (stripped, suspension, brakes, cage, harness) was faster than any OEM E9X or F8X M on most tracks... while being down a couple of hundred HP

Coming out of turns and on the straits, it was pretty obvious that the M4 was walking away while the E92 was WOT. With the same driver, I don't think enough can be made up in the corners to run a faster lap than the F82, stripped or not. |

No, but I'd be happy to tangibly learn otherwise. IIRC, a stock F82 is roughly 2 seconds behind the E92 GTS and 4 behind the E46 CSL on the ring. Short technical tracks like Hockenheim, the F82 is a half second behind the E92 GTS.
What am I missing about the E92 in the video? |

The reason or likely reason the M4 was slow was like me, 1st time on track, new car, not tryin to crash. My lap was slow as hell and that's how I wanted it. If Timo is in both cars it's different story. Strip the M4 and it's an even different (er) story.

Lukester ran a 7:27 in that stripped E92. And said he can probably do better. Some food for thought for a few people here.
I was a little surprised to see how much movement the F82 has on its suspension. I know it is faster than the E9x, so perhaps I was expecting it to be a lot more buttoned down. I'd say, plenty of room left for a GTS/CSL.
