they are claiming the fuel tank does not fall under this extended warranty. What do you all think I should do? thanks for the discussions. The warranty manager at the dealerships is claiming this issue is not covered. any advice?
Can they not read? How can they claim that? Go to a different dealer if you have that option.

Got a code 190302 on my 2018 M3. They covered yours no problem?

EDIT:
For anyone else wondering, ended up replacing my fuel tank which was covered by the CA Emissions Warranty 7yr/70k miles

Did they mention anything about the 15 year/150k mile warranty? I see it doesn’t include 18 models but was curious if that was actually true. I’m catless so not sure if they would deny a emissions claim.

I’ve been experiencing an EVAP code, unable to pass smog here in California. Every time I filled up, I’d smell gas in my 2015 F83. Finally snapped this pic. BMW diagnosed the leak on the drivers side and is honoring the warranty as we speak. Should be done in the next couple days!

Just wanted to chime in here.
2015 F80 79k miles just had the fuel tank replaced under the extended warranty.

Had a super strong fuel smell when filling up or driving over lots of bumps.

Turns out the top of the tank was leaking.

Took to dealer, they confirmed the warranty extension and diagnosis was confirmed it was the fuel tank. Had the car back in 2 days.

Only thing that is worrisome is that this is the third fuel tank for this car. The tank was previously replaced at like 35k miles.

Same here, also '18 M3.

I noticed recently but chalked it up to performance car things, that after a (normal) drive, and parking in the garage, it stinks up the room. Not a burning clutch smell but definitely car fluids.

No codes. Is this a symptom of a leaking fuel tank?

I would get it checked. After a hard run all I smell is tires and brakes, and some general hot-engine ( but no oil leaking yet, so nothing actually burning ) smells.

I just received my notification in the mail a few days ago, although I currently do not have any leaks, I still have 8 more years to go for warranty coverage.

What notice? I'd love to get back the deductible I had to pay when I needed a new gas tank two years ago.

Anyone who had their gas tank replaced, only for it to leak again??

I had the tank replaced April 2025. Maybe have put 1-2k miles on the car since (it’s a third car). Noticed a suspicious puddle under the vehicle today where the initial leak was …

Is the diagnosis included for free? I'd rather be safe than sorry and have them check it out.
