Unbolted the mounts. Removed the carbon brace. You do not need to remove either downpipe I’m not sure where that is coming from.

I’ve done this now 3-4 times and never have had to remove a downpipe.

I would suggest disconnecting the exhaust after the downpipes so it doesn’t pull on the rest of the system but you should be fine clearance wise if you’re lifting 1-2 inches.

Anything more than that I cannot condone, nor is it necessary to get the mounts out from underneath

Thank you for the instructions. I’ll be doing this soon since my car has clocked 100k miles. Curious if anyone has photos to be more clear?

I only see the front threaded port for the tow hook. Is this one location for pick-up sufficient or do I need to have an anchor near the rear of the block too?

Had another member message me about the engine mounts and sent him this, just sharing for everyone:

Thought this was common knowledge but I guess not lol.

I cut 4x4 wood blocks and 2x4 wood blocks to put under each side of the bar (they should sit on the interior of the metal fender to distribute weight evenly).

That will give you an additional 6” or so to raise the engine up…you should have your downpipes disconnected from the mid pipes, although like you said I do have catless aftermarket downpipes so I have some additional room.

If you’re running OEM downpipes you may need to pop the downpipes off entirely from the turbo housing as the cats will not allow for the same clearance.

You should have little to no resistance when raising the engine, it’s not going to come right up, but it shouldn’t be forced. Obviously keep an eye on hoses and wires and sensors etc. depending on your intake you may need to take the intake off too. LISTEN to things as your raising it. If it doesn’t sound right STOP.

Once that engine bar is sitting on the wood blocks, you can judge whether or not you need to add the 2x4 to the 4x4 (put the 4x4 down first, then see if more height is needed).

The engine mounts do not need to be forced out, they should have enough room to come up towards the engine, and then you just have to twist them one way or the other to get them completely out.

If you need more room, then lower the engine and add the 2x4 blocks on top of the 4x4’s and repeat.

Keep in mind the things that are secured to various points throughout the engine bay. For the most part the engine sits entirely on the mounts, but be mindful that things like hoses, intakes, pipes etc may need to be disconnected depending on your set up. This will not be an issue for most people, just throwing it out there so no one breaks anything.

EDIT: if you end up needing to add the 2x4’s on top of the 4x4’s SCREW OR GLUE THEM TOGETHER PROPERLY!!!!!!

You do NOT want the two pieces of wood slipping if they are not attached!!

Mitigate those risks!!

2ND EDIT: every engine support bar is different in design and lifting height. Keep that in mind when calculating distance between the tow hook screwed into the block - and the hook/chain that attaches to the engine support bar. Some people may not need any wood blocks…I did…some people may need more wood blocks…etc. common sense folks

Thank you for more details.

I had to look up an engine bar; I’ve always use engine hoists and lifts to pull engines. Good to know only need the single point on engine.

You can certainly use a hoist, you’ll just have to rig it up differently.

Bar - lifting the engine up

Hoist - typically for removing entirely but you can certainly set it up to do the same job as the bar
