New Product Launch! - Evolve OEM+ S55 Replacement Turbos for F80 M3, F82 M4 + F87 M2C

One of the common problems we are starting to see as the twin turbo S55 found in the F8x M2C/M3/M4 gets a little older is the turbos starting to fail. My high mileage F82 M4 was no different with it using 1 Litre of oil every 1000-1500 miles.

To cure this we fit a set of our newly developed OEM+ Turbos. These are a direct replacement for the original turbos but feature uprated seals and bearings meaning they won't fail again in the future.

In this video we show the entire process from removing the original turbos, stripping them down to rebuild as our uprated OEM+ turbos, then how we install them back in to the car.

We can offer a variety of Hybrid turbo options that will make more power, but for many the OEM units already produce enough power. We wanted to develop an OEM+ turbo that will replace your failed BMW turbos and is rebuilt to our own higher specification ensuring improved reliability and longevity.

Built from brand new cores featuring:
• Lightweight billet compressor wheel
• Uprated Thrust + Journal Bearings
• We Uprated Oil Seals
• High speed precision balancing of the rotational assembly
• Original BMW housings media blasted
• Rebuilt professionally in-house

These are offered on an exchange basis. If you do not wish to send your turbos in first please choose the core charge option, which will be refunded on the receipt of your S55 turbos and verification that they are suitable for rebuild. Installation is also available at our workshop based in Luton, UK

Check out more information on our website

Pardon the amateur questions, as I’m not the most technologically intelligent enthusiast:

1) do these turbos have the same spool and ceiling as OEM turbos?

2) can these handle a higher boost compared to the OEM?

3) if my goal is no more than 500-550whp will these help me hit my goal reliably?

These are designed as an OEM+ replacement so the spool and limit are very similar to the OEM turbos.

The uprated components mean they will be more suited to a tuned vehicle than the original OEM turbos.

Thank you for the reply.
Would a retune be necessary as well? (I’m sure it would but just confirming)

Also what’s the turnaround time?

Being a direct OEM replacement no tuning is required.

If we have turbos built ready to go they would be shipped as soon as we receive yours in exchange. If you are in a rush the core charge option would be the way to go.

I am in a rush, but I don’t see any in stock for core charge option. I plan to send mine in afterwards.

Any Power Gains with these Chargers? Looking to Keep spool as close to stock as possible but also only really plan to run my Car on 93 but would like a little more power on 93 than what stock turbos deliver. Thanks in Advance!

If these are the real deal, this is a great option to replace stock units. I replaced mine last year and IIRC it was $1900+ for OEM and would've definitely rather gone with these.

The design target was a turbo very similar to the OEM turbo in regards to performance. But with the uprated internals it means our turbos are happier living at the higher boost pressure of a tuned car.

Struggling to keep these on the shelf at the moment! Proving to be super popular with great feedback from customers.

Just a personal anecdote to anyone looking to purchase these turbos.

Purchased these on 12/2/2025. Still currently no estimate on when they will even be ready to be shipped.

12/2/2025
When I ordered these, the website had showed there were 4 sets in stock. As soon as the order was placed, I got an email from someone from DME Calibration telling me there's a 2-3 week lead time.

Website information and post-purchase status is different and misleading, but fine whatever. I told Adbul at DME Calibration that the lead time was fine.

12/22/2025
I had heard nothing back from Evolve regarding these turbos and reached out via email. Granted I was aware the holidays were coming up, wanted to see if I needed to schedule time with my shop pre or post-holidays.

Got a reply back saying turbos will be ready first week of January and will be sent out as soon as they were open post holidays. Great. Bid them happy holidays and continued to wait.

1/8/2025
Checked in post holidays to confirm timeline. Notified now turbos are not ready as they had issues with a shot blaster and the turbos not up to par. They are now working to get them redone.

Not ideal but it is what it is???

1/18/2025
Again radio silence reached out today to see what is going on with these turbos. Waiting on update to see if these turbos even exist or if I'm SOL and am just getting strung along.

UPDATE 1/20/25
Heard back from Abdul who I've been emailing. They're still working on finding a solution for properly sand blasting the turbos.

From where things stand I don't have any choice but to wait as I would rather Evolve spend time to do it right and send a good product vs me hound them day and night and get sent a rushed product with problems.

I will say despite Evolve not pro-actively reaching out to let customers know there are issues with orders, at least they maintain a friendly and generally helpful/apologetic tone and reasonable response time when I reach out. As this is my first experience with Evolve, it's somewhat disheartening as I am a fan of their Youtube videos and have followed some of their car builds. Hopefully this turbo situation is not reflective of every transaction with the company, but for future purchasers this was my experience.

TLDR: Buy at your own risk. Not sure when I'll ever get these in hand.
Dang! I'm hitting the 140k mark and refreshing a lot of the components of my car and my turbos have a bit of play in them and these looked like a great upgrade. Hopefully they can get them to you because I want some too Evolve Automotive can you give an update here for the community?

I'm right at under 92k miles and was doing this for preventative maintenance as I figured it's about that time. Was not expecting it to be this difficult to purchase turbos especially when the website said "4 in stock"

Mistakes happen with website stock data going stale, but yeah, the buyer shouldn't have to chase responses just to confirm availability. Thanks for posting this - responsiveness (or the lack there of) is definitely a consideration when making a relatively large purchase like this.

Cheers - hopefully it all works out.

When did you place your order and how long have you been waiting? Did you receive any ETA on your order?
