Hi all,
What are the criterias for being able to use the PM?
What is a "certain number" of posts?

In order to use the PM system and be a full fledged member of this community, you will have to make a certain number of verified post replies and wait 7 days for your account to be upgraded."

no, he's actually right, because a new registered user needs a certain number of post replies to be able to receive private messages, i believe u need to have more than 10 post replies to unlock them

it's to vet out new users that come here to scam or try to get free stuff.

you get pms whenever they decide you get pms.

This green message might be a bit misleading if only experienced users determine whether you can receive private messages.

I like to read more than post but I guess you need to be a poster to get verified so maybe this post counts as one

FWIW, the reason there’s not a fixed number of posts is because you need to make posts that are seen by and verified-as-not-spam by several existing users. Sometimes that takes just a few, sometimes more.

Existing verified users see a dialog next to new user’s posts asking them to do this. So enough users need to say ‘yep, not a bot or spammer’.

Thanks, I have the same issue, PM not allowed since I'm new. Is there any way to get validated with out posting > 10 times?
