A question for those who were here then. Did the E9x and F8x dominate the news feed to the extent the G80 does now?

I'm really glad BMW sold so many of them. I just love seeing 3-4 of the dogshit ugly turds every time I leave the house. Yuck.

I’m not sure what you mean by “news feed”? Both received good coverage from multiple sources when they were first released. The e9x M3 probably had more coverage including a drifting comparison which it actually won. I love my two e92 M3s and f82. I can’t stand the styling of the g82 otherwise I’d have one and my streak of owning every M3/M4 generation would have continued.

That’s what I meant, the news feed in the forum. I only have Instagram because I hate social media, but there I can filter most of the g80 out. Here the news feed is relentless with g80 content. It seems like 75% g80 posts. But if that was the same for past M3’s then fine. Otherwise it feels like the g80 is forced on everyone here. I would like to see a more varied news feed. I would feel the same even if I liked the g80.

Instagram and TikTok did not really exist during most of the E-series generation and it was all very new when the F-series came out.

The G-series is overhyped because of the social media kids.

True enthusiasts know that the real driver's cars are within the E/F series!!!

Honestly, I couldn’t care less about what typical instagram and TikTok social media personalities have to say about M cars. It’s the professional and amateur motorsport journalists and racers that can truly describe whether the current generation of a M car is great. Car forums can do a good job but they are usually heavily biased including bimmerpost.

The forum is a great community for owners of the more recent platforms but one of its main revenue generators / purposes is to drive new car sales for BMW - hence it’s a lot about the G.

Good question. I rarely visit the homepage now as I know it’ll be purely G8x and G99 content, mixed in with EV junk.

Would be nice to see some fresh content on there for other models.
