Yeah, I figured. Every reupholster told me they would replace that center section but it would match 100%. Bummer. I'll learn to live with it or hopefully run into someone that can make the repair and not replace.

I did similar damage to my driver's seat from a button on jeans. I tried a lot of different things but nothing worked.

Leatherique might be able to flatten those spots so they're less noticeable

I used leather hero and it helped a lot with the color on my last car and not too expensive. But the scratches probably need professional help!

I just had a discussion with my upholsterer, that did my Alcantara headliner regarding leather repair. When leather isn't sitting flush, an upholsterer has to choose the "least-destructive" path to get it level:

Using fine-grit sandpaper (often 400 to 600 grit) to gently buzz down the fibers. This works best for "burrs" or fuzzy edges from a scratch.

For a flap of leather that is sticking up and too thick to sand, they might use a scalpel or X-Acto blade to trim the high point. This creates a "low spot" instead, which is actually easier to fix because it can be filled with leather flexible putty.

Using a flexible leather adhesive to bond the fibers back down, often followed by a "cold press" (using a heavy, cold metal object) to shrink and flatten the area.

Note: The leather will never be perfect, even with a perfect color match.

The repaired spot might be more matte or more shiny than the surrounding area. Unless the pro uses a grain-imprint mold, the repaired spot will usually look smoother than the natural "pebble" of the rest of the hide. In direct sunlight, the way light hits the repaired fibers will always be slightly different from the rest of the piece.
