Yep the instructors were great on checking if anyone suffered from motion sickness etc. and in other classes I have seen people not do a hot lap and no one though less of them or have them a hard time. It’s all challenge by choice. 😉

It is not just students that can have motion sickness, as I have seem many instructors wear motion sickness patches. They don't have the option of sitting out a driver.

I haven’t seen instructors wearing patches but I suppose it makes sense. Admittedly that would be an interesting nuance if you love your job so much but have to medicate each day to make it through it. Just shows their (the instructors) dedication.

Yes, I will definitely do that next time, along with Dramamine just in case. Like I said, I really should've thought about it because it's not like it was my first rodeo with motion sickness. Live and learn.

That being said, I absolutely will not hesitate to do it again. Great fun.

It will be difficult to take a sedative like dramamine or even scopolomine and be at 110%, which is where you really need to be to get the most out of the classes and be safe.

Just don't be a passenger in a car if you cannot stomach it.

Ginger chews can also help, and are a non-drowsy alternative. Also, eat lightly that day, even at lunch.

Honestly, Dramamine has never made me tired, like at all. For whatever reason, medications/supplements that are supposed to make you drowsy never have that effect on me. I operate heavy machinery with impunity.

And in any event, I'll take driving at 103% over wanting to die, thanks. Unfortunately, I've tried every remedy under the sun – even the patch doesn't do anything for me. Dramamine is the only thing I've ever used that seems to help.

The BMW Driving schools are no less than great. I have completed 2 in Australia & loved them. Sounds you had a great time as I have.

That just means the value proposition isn’t there for you and that’s okay.

When I attended about 5 years ago, the 2 day M school included three nights of accommodation with breakfast/dinners) in a luxury hotel (JW Mariott) in Palm Dessert. Not far from the track in Thermal, CA.
But I don't know if that's included anymore.

Nope, they've ditched all that, unfortunately.

It definitely is expensive, but it's also very, very good.

It is not, that said I do feel there should be more done in the way of SWAG/MERCH but given some individuals were local I can see them not including accommodations.

I tried both ginger pills and ginger hard candy and the hard candy variety helps me the most (I use Gin Gins Super Strength). I pop one in rolling out of pit-lane onto the track and just let it dissolve in my mouth. Lasts me for most of a lap. I find the strong taste lingering at the back of my throat to be the ticket.

Haven't tried that as a passenger yet, but my suggestion is not riding (and that's what I tell instructors, nobody raised any issues). I did a lap and a half at Mid Ohio with an instructor and had to skip a couple of lapping sessions after that to recover (was before I started taking the Gin Gins).
