Any users of RacingBrake 380/32 rotors with OEM calipers?

If you’re using the RB 380x32mm rotors with OEM blue calipers, I’d like to hear from you.

The allure for me is the increased thickness thus heat absorption capacity. Although I think you are restricted to OE-thickness pads, meaning can’t use a PFC08 for instance.

Anyway, please chime in what pads you are using too. Much obliged…

Chiming in - running the RB rotors with DS2500s all the way around for about 18 months now. Definitely a big improvement over the stock rotors in terms of heat management. I've been very happy with the combo for both daily driving and track days (on street tires).

Not sure what your use case is, but if I get out to the track more regularly or switch to stickier tires I'd consider a more aggressive pad, but otherwise this setup seems to be more than enough braking for my skill level. The other option that I considered was just spending a bit more and getting an Essex kit for the front and only swapping pads for the back. Nothing else seemed worthwhile, and I wanted to keep the option to run 18" wheels which rules out some of the other kits (e.g., the M2C kits). Doing a full Essex kit was just too much $$$$ at the time.

Since the RB rotors are 2mm ticker than stock, I thought there would be some issues fitting new rotors with brand new pads. I take it you didn’t experience that?

I don't have experience with the RB rotors, but a while back I was in the market for updated aftermarket rotors and was in between the RB rotors and Girodisc. I ended up going with the Girodisc based on the reviews I read online from people using the rotors on other car models, and because I didn't want drilled rotors.

Both the Girodisc and the RB have similar dimensions, and both are 2mm thicker than stock. I can confirm that I've had no issues with the Girodisc on stock pads, DS2500, and DS1.11

OP, any reason you are not considering Girodisc? Really, a no brainer they are a VERY good rotor. Plenty of threads here talking about how good they are, specifically for heat management.

They are the default choice for upgrades for Porsche and Lotus and becoming more and more popular here among BMWs.

Just saw this - no issues. Agree with others that Girodisc rotors have a good reputation. Don't think you can go wrong with either, and I'd imagine (though haven't looked) there's little price difference for hats + rotors or for replacement rotors and pins. Girodisc were "coming soon" when I was in the market so weren't an option - it was RB, Brembo or the brand new Alcon rotors at the time (more expensive).

Saw BuLoOoSki's point re cross-drilled vs slotted - the RB are odd in that they are slotted but with cross-drilled holes countersunk into the slots. My take was that they don't fall into the simple cross-drilled bad/slotted good advice that we're all familiar with, but it's a good point and glad BuLoOoSki raised it so you can take it into consideration.
