The hot springs near Solden are great - James Bond was filmed there FYI. You did miss the epic 33 turn climb to Neiderthai, which was about 4 km away from where you were after turning left onto the main. Swarovski museum near Innsbruck, you should have stopped there for wife.[/QUOTE]

Did you just copy the WHOLE article to reply ?? 😏

Thanks! Yeah, will do a few mods.

Installed IND front grill & side grills last night. Have the HAS kit and 15mm spacers sitting here waiting to be installed also. Will code the car within the next few days.... Then want to do a new exhaust (AWE or MPE most likely), downpipes, JB4, front lip & diffuser (Vorsteiner or Status Gruppe). Wheels eventually.

Dang didn't know about this! Thanks for the heads up. Wish we would have gone there. I guess we'll have to go back now!

Wow 9 weeks! Painful!

I remember replying to your initial post while I was on day 3 or 4 of my trip. I dropped mine on May 20 (Nice) and had it back July 1 (midwest).

Have fun and enjoy the ride. Great redelivery pic, BTW.

The car was fixed and looks amazing and I was able to finally bring it home.

Thanks Bimmerpost for sharing my ED, and thank you Eugene BMW for all the work that was done to get me my dream car!

@///bproden Congrats! The car looks sharp as expected I have a quick question tho. In one of your pics (I think the last pic of your car from the delivery day), your car is in the shade and DRLs are on but only a half of the circle if I'm not mistaken. I just wanted to know if what I observed is real because in other pics a full circle is on.

Thanks for the pics!

This is due to the camera frame rate, combined with the LED refresh rate... Natural effect.
Nothing to worry about.

Congrtas to OP on a great trip.
Too bad it wasnt longer.

You have a beautiful and understanding significant other...

Yes 9 weeks was awful. The car arrived also last week with some scratches on the trunk. I was worried it was going to be a few weeks longer, but they ended up getting them out and replacing a taillight. Thank for the comments!

Yes, what he said below. I took a few of this pic and in each one the halo looked different. Kind of like a computer screen changes when you take a pic of it. In real life they look normal and perfect.

Thank you! Yes, it was a little too short, but we made sure to take advantage of every moment. Thanks for the compliments. She is a trooper!

Pizza was seriously best ever. Make me every time I see that pic.

Your trip looked amazing! Definitely on my bucket list. Just want to Munich this past December and didn't get a chance to see the Welt. Ended up taking a train to Neuschwanstein and the view from the bridge was surreal. Anyways hope you're loving the M4!

Congrats on your aquisition and thanks for posting. It is always fun reading ED experiences.

The title on the home page is misleading though, Innsbruck and the Aquadome hotel are in Austria

Manuals are definitely on the way out for the M4/M3s. This guy is European and he opted for the twin-clutch over the manual in a continent/country where most people drive manuals.

Time for us to let go.

I had a really hard time trying to decide between manual and dct. I went with dct based purely on the performance. After I placed my ordered, at one time almost called to try and switch it before it went into production. Once it did go into production I regretted my choice; however, the moment I drove it in Germany, that feeling was gone. The technology and speed of the shifts has been perfected. It's truly amazing.

After getting the car back in the states and driving it over the weekend, I do think that a manual might be a tad more fun for regular driving. Although, when I want to drive spirited i'm sure the DCT will be nice.

With this car, I really think either is a good choice and neither will disappoint. I do agree though, manuals seem to be on their way out unfortunately.

Great post, and it gives me a few ideas for our October delivery. The Aquadome looks great! Think we'll book it.

Keep us posted (or send me a message) when you get the exhaust. I am very interested in doing something along those lines, so I'll be curious about your thoughts.

Eugene! Maybe we'll see you on I-5. I'm in Beaverton. I get to a duck game or two each year.
