Had mine installed a few months ago, had to get the midpipe welded as AA forgot to finish the weld right at the x section.
Currently running stock dp's and Dinan muffler with the non resonated mid. Thinking about changing over to ARM resonated dp's with non resonated mid, any input or experiences with that setup? |

DIY BMW M2 CS S55 Equal Length mid-pipes
Goals for improving the volume and the sound quality of the M2CS OEM exhaust are as follows: increase the volume, no rasps, no drone, maintain the OEM sound quality and some horsepower gains.
Downpipes: Ultimate Racing's M2 C Dps with EPA 49-State Legal Catalytic Converters improved the throttle response, about a 10% increase in volume and some horsepower gains. NO CEL. https://www.ultimate-racing.com/coll...tion-downpipes DIY EL: From reading the M4 forum, the passenger side's exhaust pipe should be extended 12 to 14 inches to equalize the exhaust pulses. However, because I wanted to keep the OEM resonator to reduce the drone and rasps (it has a built-in cross pipe and free flow), I've decided to equalize the exhaust volume by increasing the girth on the passenger side of the exhaust pipe. This also meant both secondary cats were removed to free up space and some hp. On the driver's side, the 2nd cat was replaced with a straight pipe. For the passenger side, initially, I planned to weld 2X 2.5 to 3.5 inches (5 inches in total) transition pipes with about an~8 inches 3.5-inch pipe in between. However, it was later found out there was only enough space for a 4 inch 3.5 pipe, and the total volume would not be enough. The OEM secondary cat is about 6 inches in diameter and ~7 inches in length, so the volume is closer to what I wanted to achieve. As a result, the core was punched out and welded back. So far, I am pretty happy with the result. It does, however, make some rattling sound during cold starts, and I think the volume can be a bit higher. |

It crosses bank-2 over to the driver's side, which has the longer pipe at the rear to clear the diff, AND it adds a bunch of bends to increase length along the way. I will try to remember to measure, but by eyeball I would guess it adds quite a bit more than 12-14 inches. Adding the bend around the diff alone probably increases it by that much. |
