CarMax Offering 4k Over Dealers
Wild time we're in, I'm selling my 2017 Silverstone II M3 Comp with 42,222mi and CarMax has beaten all five BMW dealerships in my area by 3-4k.
If you're in the market to get out of the F8X market, CarMax might be your out. |

KBB was around $44k as an instant cash offer (very similar to all of the BMW dealers around me), CarMax was $48k on the dot after a 20 minute inspection. I got the CarMax quote first and used that as muscle against the dealers and none of them would meet the CarMax offer. |

Get quotes from Vroom and Carvana as well. These places are begging for inventory.

Carmax was a joke for me, went this past Monday and was offered $46k on my 18 M4 Comp with 30k miles. Every dealer in the area has offered me $56k, it was an insult.
Folks here mentioned Carmax hates modified vehicles, so that's probably why the offer was so low. They should have just told me that before making me go through the process then waiting 20 minutes while they ran the numbers. Total waste of time. |

They view the car over zoom and offer you a cash price picked up. I got offered $2K over carfax, but if I sold I don't know what I'd get for the price so I held onto the car for the time being. |

I just sold my ‘18 M3 comp DCT 39k miles to Carmax for $59.5k. Car had no accident history but did have a small scrape/scratch on front bumper.
They beat out the BMW dealer by about $1k. |

VROOM
Sold my car to them. Best price and I didn't have to go anywhere or do anything. 2015 m4 vert. Was ymb, 19" wheels dct, full merino and HK. 28.5k miles. 44k picked up from my driveway. (Carvana and local dealers....without seeing it were between 40 and 42) Was listed 2 or 3 days before they had a sale pending at 48k on their website. Couldn't interest anyone on this site at 43k... |

I probably got the best offer of all time. I offered to myself, to keep my car. Biggest f8x win of the decade.

Agreed. Bought a zcp 6MT to replace a base DCT. Granted I prefer YMB of my dct car to the SO of the new one. But a 3 pedal convertible with the competition package is pretty special...so just as you I am a winner too and still have an f8x myself.

Had 2 family members sell to Algo, no issues, check in hand and drove off. I beleive Carvana or Vroom wants to hold the car for a week to go over it, hell NO! Anyway what's everyone buying after the f80? Isn't new cars selling at or over MSRP and barely any discounts, so it almost balances out? Wouldn't mind the extra cash but I don't see myself jumping ship to a higher monthly note and a less entertaining car. |

CarMax was a giant waste of time for me (along with Vroom and Carvana). They all came in about $5k-$8k lower than what I sold it for. Pretty sure they all had no clue what a CS actually was, which was odd because Carvana asked for a photo of the window sticker and then came back with the lowest offer of all of them. lol

Nice! I've heard great things about Carmax. VROOM has terrible customer service from my experience....I spent 2 weeks going through their process only to be rejected at the end because they "no longer purchase leased vehicles"....a policy put in place less than a month ago.
