C8 Corvette
I had a very good raffle ticket and picked up a new 2020 Corvette 3LT Z51 last week. My son & I flew to Orlando & drove it back to eastern NC.
I have a '98 M3/4/5 that I'll probably keep forever I also have a '16 M3. I really, really like the f80 but I think I'm gonna sell it. The M3 is a great car. Little or nothing negative about it and a bunch of great features and great performance. So far my impressions of the Vette are all positive. It's obviously quicker than the M3 and in tour mode with magnetic ride control the ride is better. The ingress & egress is better, which is a surprise. Gas mileage is better. I like the DCT in the Vette better, on rare occasion the M3s trans is a bit jerky (that may be driving technique). M3 is out of warranty and I have 3 years on the Corvette. Not much more to say, I've enjoyed the M3 and it's been one of the best cars I've ever owned but it's time to move on. |

MagneRide is hard to beat. Not sure why (politics of sourcing from Delphi/BWI?) but the German manufacturers don't use it which is a shame.

M3 vs C8 is not a fair comparison. M3 is an all around commuter all purpose performance sedan and the C8 is a 2 seater actual sports car.
That being said, if you can live with 2 seats then the C8 is a great choice and no brainer as an upgrade from an M3. |
