Steady 13.5 liters per 100km. Not bad at all.

20.2 mpg on a combination of 75% highway 25% street. My e92 used to manage 18.6 on the same combination. Most of my driving is in my M1 mode (Efficient Throttle, Comfort everything else, D2). I've never let my tank run down but I usually fill it up when range drops below 80. This implies ~310 miles for a full tank.

On a drive to Austin pre break in I managed ~23 mpg.

It looks like there is a good difference in economy figures between those of us who drive in "hooligan mode" all the time (Yes thats me) and those of us who drive in "efficiency mode" when needed- I guess that makes sense, I should really try running in efficiency mode just for comparison... but probably not

Just about every tank I average 21-22 indicated. Actual via pump/calc is 1-1.5mpg less. I'm not even trying to take it easy on the car because I'm still in that honeymoon-throttle phase. Fairly confident I could average 23-25 taking it easy.

The tank capacity is 15.9 gallons. So even if you average 20 mpg (which is low and very conservative...I drive in D2 or S2 90% of the time), you will get pretty close to 320 per tank.

Mines around 16.5mpg at 900miles. I'm in the break-in stage meaning almost zero highway driving though. I would think it will get better with time.

BMWNA and BMWAG lists 60 liters or 15.875 gallons as the official capacity of the F8x tank. For comparison the F10 (M5) capacity is 80 liters or 21.1 gallons.

This is in US gallons - 15.9 US gallons would be 13.2 Imperial (UK) gallons, although the UK has pretty much moved to litres now so it is less of an issue.

Interesting...did not realize there was a volumetric designation such as an "Imperial gallon". I thought they primarily used the metric system. Leave it to the Brits to be different.

Might be worth reseting the gauge and seeing how the next couple of hundred miles go... When I picked my car up it registered something like 9 mpg which would screw the results with low mileage. I did a reset almost immediately.

18.6mpg average which includes about 5 track days.

FYI one track day, which is 4 twenty minute sessions, will suck down almost an entire tank of gas. This motor can really chug the fuel if you're driving it hard.

I saw a video of someone trying to hit vmax in an F80 and you could actually see the gas needle moving, kind of scary

I think this car CAN get better gas mileage if driven conservatively. In my e90 i was getting 22mpg if i was careful, in this one i can get 25-26 mpg if im careful. But normally im around 18mpg (vs 14-16 i used to get in e90).

Dama, I have spotted a sense of humor from you before, but now I see sense too. Reel those in, or a friend invite will be delivered.
