The only real settings I've changed coming from my non comp M3 to my new comp package is pretty much the suspension settings since I didn't have the adaptive suspension option on my previous M3.
Everything else is pretty much the same. M1: Sport settings across the board Drivelogic in D1, HUD normal M2: Full Sport+ settings across the board and traction DSC off/MDM, Drivelogic in D3, HUD in M view. Might switch the steering on both to Comfort based on some comments in this thread but I actually kind of like the more stiff steering of Sport+. Last edited by IDBGOD; 07-11-2018 at 10:16 AM.. |

Which M setup do you use when daily driving your M3/M4?
Personally:
Throttle mapping: Sport Suspension Comfort Steering Weight Comfort How about you? |

Sport + all with DSC off at all times (unless it's raining but I work from home so the car almost never sees rain).

I have been trying a lot of different settings the last 3 years and since a couple of days I am using these settings which seem like the perfect ones to me.
M1 (for highway, commuting to work, ...) Efficient / Comfort / Comfort / D2 / DSC ON Notes: Exhaust flaps open. With D2 the shifts never take you below approximately 1800 RPM except in 1 and 2. DSC ON for obvious reasons, as it rains a lot in Belgium (hydroplaning). M2 (for fun) Sport / Comfort / Sport / S2 / MDM (Euro) Notes: Exhaust flaps open. With S2 the shifts are smoother (very harsh on S3) and I downshift around 2000 RPM (never below). Upshifts between 6000 and 6500 RPM, I barely redline my car. M Dynamic Driving mode is a good compromise. DSC OFF is just crazy and I only do this on a warm and dry day. Last edited by G4BR13L; 03-20-2019 at 11:47 AM.. |

I’ve had my car almost a year now. Still vastly prefer sports steering to the comfort and sports+. Just feel the best to me, perhaps I’m just very used to it.
So for me M1. Sports+, sport, sport. I’ll play with traction control as opportunity allows M2. Sports+, sports+, sports. Mdm. Sometimes tc off. Depends on where I am. Hate rev match. I will eventually shut it always off |

Wife in car or in bad weather: all three in Sport
Only me in car: Sport+ for throttle and suspension, Sport for steering. Sad to say, downshifts are more smooth (at low speeds at least) with rev-match on.

M1 - all comfort
M2 - sport throttle so i can have rev match. sport steering. sport+ suspension. MDM eventually i'll put m2 mode with dsc off, but ive only had the car a month and still getting used to it. it seems to be more twitchy than my 458 which i usually drive with traction off. Is there a way i can change what the car starts up in ??? its like sport+ steering / comfort throttle / sport suspension and i want to change it

I always use the Sport Plus M Drive settings
So I’ve had my M3 for over a week now and I've only used the Sport Plus engine, steering, and suspension modes.
Does anyone use the Efficient engine setting, Comfort suspension setting, or Comfort steering setting? |

Never. When I owned my M cars I drove in Sport+ 100% of the time. Hitting the M1 button was literally part of my startup routine. The only time the car was driven with the default settings is when my wife drove it.

I do as well out of respect for my neighbors but then go into sport+ all the way around once out of my development, unless in heavy traffic or on long highway trips.

Nope. The power button and M1 button are pressed in sequence, since that's the only way to turn off rev matching.

I start in efficient only when leaving in morning. Then after a couple miles I work my way up to sport. Once I get on highway sport + is engaged!
I like to wait for oil temp to warm up before engaging sport + and pushing it.
