Planning on taking the wife's M4 to the track since my Hellcat is in limp mode.
I took a couple runs tonight and from a stand there is a significant lag between when you mash the throttle and when she starts moving. The RPMs don't climb too high, I remember my M3 being more responsive. I was in all Sport Plus and MDM. In D with the shift mode set to 3 bars. It acted the same with DSC off Is this normal? |

That is odd. Try some brake boosting. Our F80 shoots out like a bat out of hell.
Obviously this goes without saying that if your used to your hellcat acceleration this will feel very different.

My guess is that the DSC is intervening to cut power and prevent wheel spin. Warning though: with DSC off You will go into full burnout mode if you don’t modulate the throttle.
Hmm. You say you “mashed” the throttle. Honestly, the only time I have ever mashed it was when I had MDM engaged, and I got the lag. If DSC is fully off, MDM will not appear on the dash, and you can induce wheel spin quite easily without mashing the throttle. I’d hesitate to mash it with DSC fully off because it would probably hit the limiter pretty quick and the you’d be smoking your tires big time. For me, throttle response is instant. If you are sure MDM was not engaged, then I’m not sure what’s happening, but I would say not normal.

I tried to preload with the brake and upon release it drops rpms and still lags.
Only way I can explain it, from a stand I hit the throttle and had enough time to think "wtf" before it engaged and moved. It seems significantly less responsive than my m3 (2017) was. Her m4 is a 15 |

I haven’t tried launch control, and don’t have much desire. The car launches great with DSC off, but you have to watch the right foot.

I have noticed lag when flooring it with DSC on. But I haven't noticed any lag when launching with "launch control" mode. Could be DSC/MDM interfering.
