Pops and cracks sound from standard M exhaust

Dear All,
Was at the dealership and they mentioned that the standard exhaust sound can improve by programing the valves to remain open. This will give you similar sound to the ZCP.

BMW does not provide them with this code.
- Anyone done this before?
- Any impact on performance?

if you car is NOT ZCP, your car will sound like a bitch. With a FULL exhaust it will get better. With a tune even better. But never a V8. Nonetheless i love how mine sound

By keeping the valves open, it'll essentially just always sound like Sport/Sport+ mode. But there won't be any pops/cracks from the standard exhaust. You need an aftermarket exhaust or the M performance exhaust to get them.

Ugh guess my response was too pedestrian.

Volume=mid-pipe
Tone(Sound Character)=axle-back
Pops,crackles, burbles, gunshots, double homicides, premeditated murder=tune

Each will apply to each category, however, they are listed where they make the most effect

If you want to hear valves open, you can unplug valves, takes about 5 minutes and is totally reversible. Many threads on here with the DIY
