Yup, if you look at BMW ETK parts system here in lovely Europe, you can see that up until about July last year, there was only part number for EDC dampers (we have EDC as standard here). After July, that part number continued BUT there was an addition option for either Competition Package or Tyre Pressure Display. As all UK cars have TMPS as standard, one can therefore conclude that the dampers are indeed the same on UK cars now whether you have CP or normal car.

This would concur with reports in press over here that the more recent cars seem to have behaved better in challenging situations (read bumpy roads).

I could be completely wrong but the part numbers are there as plain to see.
That is not entirely correct. While it is true that the rear struts show the same PN for CP and TPMS cars, the front struts are exclusive to the CP (at least according to RealOEM). Further, it has nothing to do with LCI, as the PN for the M4 are the same too and the M4 did not go through LCI. It is simply a MY change.

But...BMW already mentioned that competition package will have different dampers than base...straight from the horse's mouth

Yes and if you look I said AFTER JULY which pretty much coincided with LCI M3's arriving thereafter with us. My point was if you had an LCI then you had different dampers (albeit only the rear as you have kindly pointed out).

LCI is only applicable to the M3 yet M4 also gets the revised dampers... saying MY2016 is all encompassing

Fair enough. This all originally started as a conversation over M3's which is where the LCI reference came from so apologies for the confusion. As you say, both models got revised dampers at same time.

Interesting that they only change fronts for CP.

Anyway, I'll just an get my coat as apparently I've got a lot wrong

Exhaust set up is dissapoiting... Great if they changed the sound.

But same Big Silver Diaper Hanging down and they just added the 73MM Black Chrome Exhaust Tips

They could have Increased the Size of the tips to at least 88-90 MM and Blacked out the Can from Factory..

Esthetically the Rear looks no different Gloss Black Badge and Black Chrome Exhaust tips... thought they may give it a slightly more aggressive look with the Can disappearing and larger Tips.

Seats look Cool.. but I could go either way on these ... The Stock Seats look and Feel Great.

Not a Fan of the Satan Wheels.

Power Bump would be nice.

For me I will prob just add the BMW Has Kit when it comes out and call it a day... Would love an M PPK for the car.. but truthfully the car is plenty fast for me stock...

Just need to rid myself of that Nasty Front wheel gap.. but want to do it OEM as I'm Leasing.. and my dealer service center manager is a aftermarket Nazi

I think the wheels look pretty good on the white cars but not really better (and maybe not worse) than the standard 19s.

I really want the seatbelts

I think the new seats are cool and can't wait to see other OEMs copying them with cutouts in the next few years.

Really interested in the updated EDC software.

Nice! I still maintain that white paint exterior doesn't do the wheels any good. I think it'll look far better on a blue or orange car.

Can someone get a picture of what the back of the front seats look like? Just curious

Those wheels actually do NOT make it look like an M car....sad really. I'm trying so hard to like them but just can't. WTF BMW design group.....

The ZCP sport exhaust is starting to look like it is just the standard exhaust with some black exhaust tips.

The differences are internal. The ZCP supposedly has no or less baffles than base muffler

Hmm, interesting. As it is now the current muffler is straight through when the valves are open.

Not quite. Even when the valves are open, there is a small portion of perforated pipes thar go through the muffler.

Further, the pipes that go through the main muffler remain open even when the valves are open, so the main muffler acts like a big Helmholtz chamber. Changing the shape/size of that chamber will alter the tone of the exhaust even if no gases flow through it (think blowing over a bottle, changing the amount of water in the bottle changes the tone).

Still not feeling those wheels, not very flattering and a 10mm drop would help.

I see what you are saying. Perhaps a couple pictures of the internals will help your explanation.
