For those interested, BW has updated their GTmore swaybar product page with what looks like the new versions, and you can now place an order as pre-order (up until recently listed as Out Of Stock). I don't think the product description has changed (yet) - supposedly the rears in particular have been tweaked further to optimize clearance.

Last night we compared minimum corner speeds and max speeds per straight to GTS1 2:00 lap.
Assuming these speeds in the video are speedo speeds, entry/minimum speeds of the ZR1 are 5-10mph lower, max speeds per straight are 20-30mph faster.

I wish more manufacturers would use WGI and VIR as benchmarks. They are fantastic tracks!

The ZR1 will certainly excel at all power tracks.
Did you see it do 180+ two or three times at Road America?

The problem with the ZR1 however is that it's not a race car, and as a mostly HPDE car, I cannot imagine wanting to do these speeds lap after lap. It will become exhausting braking from such speeds and it'll also exhaust your bank account. Wonder how long the carbon ceramics will last?

Another thing is that these engineers are likely "semi pro" and able to handle the limits of such a car. I question the safety of those running the same HPDE session as some hot shot running one of these, especially into braking zones.

Corvettes seem to comprise an unusually high percentage of bad wrecks that I've seen at DE's...

here is another comparison which I found even more enlightening

some of you may know, a local shop (strommotorsports) is focused on building turnkey factory like race cars using the E46 chassis - they call it the B46

they are selling these cars nationally now and having seen the car, I must say, it is intriguing from various perspectives (performance, maintenance, options, consumables, value, etc.)

that said, they just delivered a car to the NE somewhere and here is a comparison of Bret driving the car at WGI and his comparison to the Vette.

Enjoy!

I suspect it's a S65 4.6L stroker in the E46 chassis. Power figures would track.

I’ve been keeping an eye out for a big brake kit and one popped up locally. It’s the AP racing 9660 front kit, brand new in the box. He’s asking $3500 obo. I wish it was the 9668 front kit, so I’m in a bit of a dilemma. Should I hold out and keep looking for a 9668 kit? (One currently in classified for $4300) or is this new 9660 kit almost as good for a significant savings, and also new in box. What would you all do?

I think it depends on how often you track and what tracks. At a track like road America I went through a whole set of new PFC11s 9668 in two days and I have ducted cooling. But at a track like Ozarks they last 4 weekends. Pad changes are easy…

I'd be weary of people selling ap kits on Facebook. I have come across 2 sellers offering front and rear setups for more than 50% off. The boxes and calipers look legit but the rotor hats, rings, brackets and lines are not from Essex.

That’s the nice thing about it being local. At least I can take a look at it and handle it before any money changes hands.

If I learned one thing on Tinder, it's that if she's too good to be true then she probably doesn't exist as advertised.

In any event, pack some heat, bring your baddest mate and meet in a Tim Horton's parking lot.

Hold out for the 9668 if you are at all serious tracking. I caved on f80 9660 years ago and still hate myself for it. Bought an E46M and also got 9660 for it because i found good deal. Still regret it... lol

I would strongly recommend waiting for a CP9668 brake kit. The 25 mm thick pad is 38% thicker than the 18 mm thick pad but there’s little difference in pad cost. Having used the CP9668 caliper, I think it is stiffer (with bridge bolts, not the quick-pad change wire bracket) than the CP9660 caliper even though it is a much larger caliper. Also, from what I’ve seen, the 25 mm thick pad is stocked by more pad manufacturers than the 18 mm thick pad because the 25 mm thick pad is used in more race calipers.

You'd think a check mark would be a more approriate symbol of quality control. Anyway, now you know...

Anyone run the GTS tune on the track? How is it?

I’m thinking of finally adding a power adder to my car, and I thought a stock gts tune would be a good idea. (Currently stock 2017 non comp tune) Possibly add the gts diff and gts steering as well.

Also any recommendations on who to go through would be great. I’ve used bimmer remote for coding out my seats, but I know bm3 is popular as well.
