Thus disliking the G8x just for the grilles is an impoverishment. For example, you didn't mention the distended anus, lexus trunk or dodge hood. |

I spent a good bit of time around and behind the wheel of a manual G80 this week filming a project, and I have to say the design has grown on me.
Looks pretty great with black trim in Portimao Blue, and it’s fantastic to drive. |

Sure. Do any of those other factors include the way it drives?

Welp, GM officially announced the 2023 Escalade V:
No specs, but rumor is a super-charged V8. Given the XM will be built on the X7 chassis, I believe these two will compete as there's not much else in the space if you want the power and size. I have a feeling this will complicate things for the XM ... we'll find out if the I'm-so-rich-I-buy-ugly trend will become a thing, at least in the autos world. I can't say the XM is uglier than the G8x to my eye, but it sure seems sloppier and to be denoted as the ///M flagship for the 50th anniversary ... good gawd

Watched this earlier - I'll be following this build to see what they do to address their main functional complaint about weight; it's going to be a big factor for them since it's going to directly impact their overhead on consumables. Also interested in how ZF holds up overtime to their level of abuse. They mentioned the brake system, which I'm wondering about - it's brake-by-wire so I imagine it'll be a PITA to swap our pads all the time, so I'm curious to see how the aftermarket brake companies address this with their kits.
But to play devils advocate here, Robert is still sticking to his guns: "If I wasn't a track user of this car, I wouldn't own it." He's like many of us in this very thread, in awe of the performance but completely turned off by design and some of BMW's behavior. It's a strange place to be and I think a lot of people are in this bucket... hence why G87 will be such an important release for BMW

We don't see the grilles in this view and still find it ugly...

Think most of us (along with people from Rennlist apparently) have made our stance fairly clear already regarding the G80/G82. Performance isn't the issue, it is everything else. Yet, the only ones that KEEPS bringing the damn subject back up seems to be the very same G80/G82 defenders like a broken record. Like I said above, "Let it go." Annoying us won't make us suddenly change our minds about the ugly spawn of a Lexus IS and Dodge Charger. Edit: I'll also point out. I legit thought he bought a Alfa Romeo Giulia because of the color and the side profile looks nearly the same as a Giulia. Only realizing after it wasn't, which was ironically disappointing.

It would be more funny if they shoved the C8 Z06's new flat plane V8 in it.

That is fine with me. What I find annoying is repeating the same thing over and over again. Granted, we do the same thing, either in jest or whatever but this has been the same conversation over, and over again. It is quite literally pointless and tiresome at the same time. The car isn't attractive to us (and others too), live with it. Plugging your ears going "LA LA LA LA" isn't going to change that narrative. I am telling this to the two people in the past two pages who seem to always bring up the same thing, again and again. Read.

I have owned other Porsches that I never brought up, nor did I ever felt the need to. This thread has been about other stuff for more than half of the 600+ pages of it. You clearly haven't paid enough attention to care. With that said, I'm just going to block your ass to save myself the trouble of replying. Be an adult. And for your information, I was never banned on the G8x side. I never posted there as I have nothing to contribute.

If I didn't need a 4-door, I would never look at a 2-door G82 M4, because at $90-95K I am looking at a nicely optioned 718 GTS 4.0, and if I were to invest a tiny more I can get a GT4 at 115K with carbon buckets. It would be a different story if M4 came with the full beans power, or a DCT, but it doesn't.
