F82 winter setup questions
My shop told me that I can run front Michelin PA4 255/35/19 and rear using Michelin PA5 275/35/19
Have any one try using two different winter tire front and rear with any issues ? |

You can do that, but why not just run PA5's all the way around? PA5 are superior to the PA4 in terms of tread pattern and compound. I run PA5's 245/40/19 front and 275/35/19 rear during the winter on 19x9.5 square; they are absolutely incredible on slick roads, plus they handle like an all season tire.

How’s the snow performance on a 275 width snow tire? I can’t imagine tires that wide would be preferrable, but if you don’t want to buy a second set of wheels to mount them on, I suppose.

You are definitely correct, the PA5 is the best winter tire I've ever run. I have tried Blizzaks, Nokians, PA4s, and SottoZeros; I can easily say the PA5 is the best middle ground for dry and snow performance. Quote:
Agreed, I would not use 19x10 on 255/35/19 rears, the tire will be super stretched leading to potential pothole damage and not so great dry or snow performance. However, there are still plenty of people that do put that size snow tire on their OEM 437M's 19x10 rears. Last edited by kindafrosty; 11-15-2021 at 11:56 AM.. |
