F82 winter setup questions

My shop told me that I can run front Michelin PA4 255/35/19 and rear using Michelin PA5 275/35/19
Have any one try using two different winter tire front and rear with any issues ?

You can do that, but why not just run PA5's all the way around? PA5 are superior to the PA4 in terms of tread pattern and compound. I run PA5's 245/40/19 front and 275/35/19 rear during the winter on 19x9.5 square; they are absolutely incredible on slick roads, plus they handle like an all season tire.

How’s the snow performance on a 275 width snow tire? I can’t imagine tires that wide would be preferrable, but if you don’t want to buy a second set of wheels to mount them on, I suppose.

What kind of an offset do you have to run the 245s? I have a set 19x8 square with PA5s from a previous car that I was considering putting on the M3. Offset is 35mm on mine. I loved the PA5s on both of my last cars. Weren't squishy like the Blizzaks I've had before.

PA5 don't come with 255 25 19, that's the reason I use PA4 front

I want a better rims for summer so I use oem rims for winter lol I rear rim us 19x10 I don't think this is a good idea for 255/35/19

They handle superbly in freezing rain and light snow (<2inches). I would not bother with this car in more snow or untreated icy roads. Keep in mind that there are many different snow tires, so a 275 Nokian R3 will handle much better in the snow than a 275 PA4 due to the compound and tread patterns (vice versa for dry performance).

I run 19x9.5 with 25mm offset all around. No spacers needed and the wheel poke is gorgeous. The larger 245/40/19 sidewall helps keep the rolling diameter in line with the rears shorter sidewall. The lowest I've seen people run is 19x8.5 winter wheels, so you may want to check fitment with our car's large brakes.

You are definitely correct, the PA5 is the best winter tire I've ever run. I have tried Blizzaks, Nokians, PA4s, and SottoZeros; I can easily say the PA5 is the best middle ground for dry and snow performance.

That's why you get the PA5 245/40/19 in the front if you want to match it with with 275/35/19 in the rear and not fuck up the rolling diameter (but you'd likely need a square wheel setup for this)

Agreed, I would not use 19x10 on 255/35/19 rears, the tire will be super stretched leading to potential pothole damage and not so great dry or snow performance. However, there are still plenty of people that do put that size snow tire on their OEM 437M's 19x10 rears.
