Sunrise highway. There is a perfectly flat and straight 2 mile stretch with literally nothing else around - just empty fields on both sides.
The only danger is/was to myself which is the only way I'd do that. The ZCP felt great at those speeds - the steering was getting a tiny bit twitchy but overall it was ultra locked down. Very impressed. The bikes hit 175 in front of me |

Lol. I picked up my 15 year old and his friend the other day (not from school) and he told me one of his friends was really into my car and wanted me to rev it before pulling away. I’m tuned with a cat back exhaust and GTS burbles and gave him a good show. They were cheering as we drove away. That’s what cool cars are all about.

When I took delivery at Munich, there was a large group of German elementary students there touring the museum. I revved the car a bit, they all applauded. The BMW gal told me to switch to Sports and rev it again. They went wild.

I've done an indicated 255 kph on the German autobahn...while being passed by a train.

I also guess it depends on what you define as being hurt. Plenty of people that have dependents that would be 'hurt' if you smash yourself to death. |

First of all, people can and do get hurt on the track. Second of all, there are zero trees on the road I drove - empty fields - so no, you don't have the same road, trust me. Third of all, what do you care if I kill myself? Fourth, the insinuation that you don't put your own self in potentially dangerous situations is laughable. People takes risks all the time. Should we not drive cars? Ride motorcycles? Skydive? Parachute? Shoot guns? Ski? Go racing? Etc. Etc. Yes - 140mph in even the best of situations (mature driver, good car, daytime, sober, warm/dry, good road, no one else around - essentially my situation) is still very dangerous. But one can easily put themselves (and worse, others) into a MUCH more dangerous situation at far slower speeds. It's not black and white - it's all about calculated risk. A knucklehead doing a burnout leaving cars and coffee, losing control and smashing into the crowd comes to mind. Last edited by EricSMG; 09-01-2018 at 03:28 PM.. |

But in the context of driving fast on the street, 'hurting others' is generally in reference to actually physically putting others in danger by your actions. |

120mph easy every day on a quick straight away with no exit entrance roads. The F80 is low weight and doesn't take long to get to 120mph. Top speed not sure but I have seen 180mph but need some good stretch in front of you.

165 mph on I-16 in a F83- started to feel unstable, but maybe it was the interstate road and had to slow down due to approaching 18 wheelers. Stage II tune. V1.

174 mph. I've noticed the HUD makes it much easier to know because I generally keep my eyes glued on the road. There was a R8 v10 plus a few car lengths behind me. haha

I have seen 151mph over a half mile slight uphill run with gps reading. It was a rolling start from around 20mph and believe me, there was plenty left.
The same run in my c63 amg and I got 142mph on the clock, so probably a touch less gps speed. My Kawasaki zx10r hits 180mph on the clocks which ain't out by much |

Few times on the autobahn during my ED... experience of a life time.
Maybe not maxed out but well into the 160s... didn't feel like it had too much more to give before I backed down. |
