Had my head unit flashed and full screen CarPlay activated, everything is working fine except that my screen doesn't always turn on when I start the car. If I reset the head unit, it comes back fine.

Totally intermittent, and no clue what's happening. It happened whether or not my phone is connected, and on both the last iOS12 version and the current iOS13.

Any ideas?

when you screen does not turn on, does idrive turn on?

Is this after the coding for full screen? Can u go back to prior to coding and see if the same happens?

I would contact your vendor because that should not occur.

Screen firmware must be updated as well as the OEM HU -your coder did not do that.

All,

Kubax86 finished coding the full screen CarPlay for my car last night. He handled everything very professionally and would eagerly recommend him if you are looking into doing this.

A few notes:

-The car needs a stable power supply as the actual update process takes 1-2 hours without the ignition being on. As a result I had my car's battery hooked up via jumper cables to my truck which was left running.

-I had to update the software for the entire MMI system. Kubax sent this via Megaupload which can take a long time to download. I would allow at least 3 hours to download and upack all of the files prior to starting. I underestimated the length of time this would take and ended up having to delay the install by a day. Kubax was very understanding and kind about my delay.

-You will need a Ethernet to OBD cable to connect your laptop to your car. This is what I purchased: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
If you don't have a Ethernet port (like me), you will need a USB to Ethernet adapter. This is what I purchased:

This guy really knows what has to be done!

As info for other guys with valid and active connected drive services:
After patching the iDrive, a re-initialization of the connected drive services is necessary, to enable them again.
This can be done in the "Connected Drive" tab by switching into the Options-Menu and hitting "Update Services". After this, everything works as expected (RTTI, Online Entertainment, Weather and so on...). The "App Support" application does not help you in this case, even if it seems that it should adress issues like that.

I have a 2017 330i wagon with life time CarPlay & have NBTevo_R, is it possible for full screen car play back & if so can it be down via a zip drive or require additional equipment? iPhone is running iOS 13.1.1

It is possible to have Fullscreen but on NBTEvo_R version ENET cable is required.
