the violent impact from the jump managed to open the gas door. Wouldn't be surprised if there was also some minor frame damage in addition to some suspension damage.
Curious to know if the steering wheel still dead center after all that fiasco.

Lol cant believe the driver feels everything he did there is within legal limits. Guess he never heard reckless driving. Who is he trying to kid.. Posting like a mature gentleman lol.. Consider yourself lucky that there were no opposing traffic. Lets just get to the core of the problem. The driver wanted to show off his car after the meet, punches turbo rwd car w cold tires on public road, car snap oversteers. If you have track experience, you should be fully aware that cold tires can get real snappy under hard load.. Anyway.. Hope this is lesson learned for ya.

Agree with others, lots of respect and appreciate the explanation. Also agree this car can catch you off guard quickly when the nannies are away.
No doubt cold tires contributed hugely to the snap oversteer. What you should have done is a burn out first to put some heat in.

It looked like terminal snap oversteer to me. However you got there, you're lucky to have hit the curb square on like that though as otherwise you might have toasted your entire suspension. I really hope the damage proves to be as minimal as its appearing so far. If so, buy a lottery ticket. Thanks for letting us know what happened so we all can learn from it.

trinim3 ----- try to ignore all the negative comments you'll be reading. We all push are cars and shit just happened to you. Your incident looked to be pretty mellow, I'm surprised it caught and kicked out. Mellow meaning [like you said] you were already rolling and just punched it.

Thanks to all of you who have been so supportive and helpful with your posts, texts, and PMs. I wish I could hide under a rock, but in this day and age of social media, there's no escaping it. All I can do is own up to it and be thankful that the outcome wasn't worse. Some of you have said that I should have known better than to give it gas in such conditions and you're right. I think I'm afraid to admit that I forgot how much respect a RWD car demands because in the RS5 you don't worry about flooring it. But I signed up for RWD knowing exactly what it was capable of, so that's my mistake for forgetting. It doesn't feel good at all to be the poster child of a bad BMW driver. For those of you that aren't supportive, I totally get where you're coming from and don't blame you.

I posted my comment earlier without reading the whole thing through, and I left it on just to be an adult for once. Yes, you fucked up, but unlike so many others here, it ended up online. That being said, I know many, many others who have done this or even worse already, but never had to face the forum for it. I would say based on the clip and circumstances told by you, this will happen again to someone else too. We go to carmeets, and sometimes circumstances are forgotten. I never wrote it here, but on a country lane, going way too fast as usual in Tennessee, it was a mix of pure luck and more luck than skill that I didn't wrap my car on my first week with it. I was coming from a bend and saw a rock on the road, and thanked my lucky stars I didn't use the brakes, since the asphalt had sand on it. I've never been so happy about learning to drive in Finland as i was after that experience. Each of us has probably done something stupid with theirs already, we just were lucky enough it didn't end up on tape.

Press the button for a few seconds longer and DSC will be off without MDM and you'll be in Trinim3 territory.
