After seeing a recent review on YouTube I was wondering if anyone thinks the new STAR fronts in 275/35/19 would fit in the front on the F80?
I run RS-4 265/40/18 and 295/40/18 on apex ec-7 9.5 front and 11 rear no issues UPDATE: the star spec new g8x 275/35/19 fit great and really are such a better tire for the front end of this car. I went generic 295 ps4s for the rear.

although it's 275 but tire thread width is stretched so much vs regular 265/35/19 and 275/35/19 Tire is 26.6 vs 26.3 overall diameter so not too much. |

To take the full advantage of those G8X spec tires, one would ideally pair them with aftermarket wheels in 19"x9.5 / 20"x10.5 sizes as they are optimized to work in staggered diameters on those wheel widths. However, I believe they could work decently well on a 763M 19"/20" setup. I would have loved to try those tires on my M4cs.
One could expirement mixing and matching the front of the 19"/20" G8X spec with the rear 18"/19" G8X spec tires on 437M wheels, but I have a strong hunch this would yield sub-optimal front/rear balance characteristics.

I have the Richland forged GT-4 in 19x9.5 and 19x10.5. Going to get the new BMW star spec see what they are like, should be better than the off the shelf ps4s. Tire rack gets the mid July. I'll update this thread then unless I get inpatient and order another tire…..

Thanks for the update. Question - what wheel sizing did you go for? And, are you lowered at all? Spacers?

https://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1846072 Looks like you ran 19x9.5 275/35/19 PS4S, (100Y) XL, Star BMW 300 AA A 1,764 lbs 50 psi 9.5/32" 26 lbs 9-11" 9.5" 10.9" 8.9" 26.6" 783 FR 19x10.5 295/35/19 PS4S, (104Y) XL, MO1 Mercedes 300 AA A 1,984 lbs 50 psi 9.5/32" 28 lbs 10-11.5" 10.5" 11.9" 9.8" 27.1" 767 FR I was just curious because I was wondering about the rolling diameter differences for your front and rear tires. The Mercedes 295s tread width of 9.8" seems thin for for what they are. Last edited by eXstasy; 10-18-2022 at 12:04 AM.. |

Front - 33112 Rear - 37028 Just finished a season with them, great overall when fresh but really fall off on track after 15-20 heat cycles. I’m at 20+ now (probably 15+ from track and 5 from long road trips), I PB’d yesterday on them but it took a lot of managing and the latter half of the day was noticeably greasier than the morning. Overall I think they’re a great arrive and drive option but will suffer from getting heat cycled as a daily tire and are pretty expensive as a pure HPDE tire.

I recently had the G80 star spec tires put on my F80, and wow, what an amazing setup. I've not tracked them, but just the feeling on the road is pretty amazing. The biggest improvement for me is the "wiggle" that happens with quick steering inputs on the normal PS4S is gone. Big win.
No rubbing or any issues with the 275s up from on the F80. I'm on RF 19s/20s. Rims are great, sadly not much lighter from the 666s IMO. But they are wider, so there is that. Question - what pressures are folks running with these? My buddy as a CS, and his door sticker recommends 35 cold...

Yup I target 33/34psi hot, usually means 27/28psi cold. Had decent weather to run the Cup2s yesterday. Even tho they’re heat cycled a ton, driving 7/10ths they had plenty of grip still. Definitely no flying lap pace anymore tho.
