Interesting pics. I like some of the styling around the M4 GT3.
I've really been trying to understand what it is I don't like about these grills. I think part of it is I wish they were more streamlined in shape. They seem "blocky" and look like two big cavities at the front of the car, instead of being part of the car. I wish they had elongated them in some way, I think. I've seen several alternate renders and none I've liked so far. I guess I just have to admit I'm out of step with where car designs are going. |

When that new grill blends with the body color, it almost looks closer to an evolution of the F80. Just squint!

I'm also out of step with the new design language. Most e cars have a more streamlined front end with out the big mouth grills, don't like the big mouth. Might be push I need to go with a BEV. Keep my old BMWs and Toyota SUVs forever and go with a full BEV for future daily driver. Usually rent a new Chevy suburban for a long road trip so no issues with range.

My M4 order is getting closer. To pass the time, I made this mockup using the BMW Visualizer.

Nice renders jmg. You will have tons of fun with that car. And despite being boring in the eyes of some, white is still one of my favorite colors for a sports car. Almost everything you do to it will have contrast and show.
Unfortunately the grill is not growing on me. If anything I like it less than I ever have. It's overwrought and garish. It's not for me, but over time it will no doubt gain new fans and for a time become the new norm. Like all trends the big grill will eventually fade. BMW is over a decade late to this trend so hopefully it doesn't last long for them. Plus these big grills have little to no function for electric cars and that is our future. I just hope it doesn't take 20 years for the trend to change. |
