Brand new carbon fiber steering wheel cracked

Anyone have any issues with their custom carbon fiber steering wheel cracking? Ordered one from from a reputable dealer and after less than a month had a crack form. Noticed it today leaving work. Drove it to the gym during lunch and no issues. Noticed it the moment I got in my car after work. It's right in the middle where the paint strip is. Easily noticeable so it happened during the few hours between lunch and me leaving work. Curious if this is common to custom steering wheels with a center paint stripe. I'm very careful with this wheel. I try not to touch the alcantara as I don't want it to wear and I don't wear my ring as I don't want to scratch the clear cloat.

I've already contacted their customer support and awaiting a response.

*Update*

The wheel is going to be covered under warranty. Should be getting the replacement sent out in a couple of weeks.

Curious if the crack occurred because the paint underneath didn't cure enough or possibly because the weather has been heating up and the heat inside the car caused the crack.

It was caused by expansion due to heat.

That's what I was thinking. Might start cracking my windows to allow heat out. Maybe get a window shade or a steering wheel cover to help.

They are Venoxy gauges, love them. I like the carbon with alcantara sides. Had the OEM M Performance wheel with the display, but not much use for me since I don't track the car.

Yeah those look great. I'm thinking of getting them in red. Was the install risky?

It's really easy to do. Just take your time with it. When you press in the center rings, don't press down too hard. Just do it enough to where the gauges sit flush. If you do it too much, they'll flex up and cause the dials not move freely. Also, don't forget to plug in the connector at the top. It's easy to miss and can be a little tricky to line up.

Shouldn't take more than an hour.
