OEM turbos for the S55 are quite stout, my best recommendation would be to buy a 1500hp-60+psi capable turbo and run it at 24psi and it will last a long time lmao as well as make the 650whp on pump gas of course . chetrickerman Perhaps Chet Rickerman could chime in when it comes to reliability for the options out there. He’s used many turbos including hybrids and full frame turbos with tuning both done on his end and for his customers with both kinds of turbo setups I mentioned.

4 years with hibrid turbos on bm3 stage2h, 0 issue.
The stock ones in stage2 would have broken in a short time.

Thats because the majority of people run their turbos pretty hard

The key is to not run turbos on their edge, and use high quality oil.

This depends on driving mode, you can have 60k miles of highway, I have 50k km of hard driving in the mountains and track, the OEMs will die quickly in these conditions.

So, what "hybrid" turbos do you have, exactly?
Do most hybrids just last longer because they aren't spun super high RPM like the stock turbos?
What oil do you use?

Stock tune, our CS turbos lasted around 25k miles and 150 track days, our gts1 turbos lasted like 30k, also stock tune. If someone is seriously tracking and is tuned, they don't last that long.
A proper hybrid turbo would have a thicker shaft to not bore into the mating surface, which is the weakness of the stock setup.

Made by myself.
Exactly, to reach pressure generated by OEM turbos they need less rpm, and backpressure also decreases.
I use mobil1 0w40

I love the Full Race turbos on the track. They make solid power with a good spooling characteristics and when tuned properly (Bend Calibration) they have excellent power delivery. The cars we have run them on have been very fast around the track. They make for a very solid improvement over the oem turbos. The cars are still easy to manage but pull extremely hard. Can see solid acceleration on this video (the back straight starts around 1:07) - this is E65 and with ambient at the time pushing 90*F. Car also has some decent aero on it adding some noticeable resistance on the top end. With decent launches down the straight I would subsequently hit right at 164 vmax still in this heat (I really botched the exit of 11 in this video and killed that run).

The Mosselmans have so far shown to have excellent potential but I need to get a lot more seat time and data with them before finalizing my thoughts vs the Full Race. Definitely like what I see so far though. The M4 we have had them on for awhile is not a good comparison though with our Full Race setups - it has a built motor and PI so we are able to push the Mosselmans closer to their limit than we have had with the FR on stock motors. However we have recently installed a set of Mosselmans on a stock motor with the typical setup of Precision Raceworks lpfp, Dorch lift kit, and EU5s pushing out to full E85. This setup is very strong but I haven't been able to get the car [...]
