BMW M3 F80 M Performance Lip

I have a 2018 M3C. It came with the M Performance Carbon Splitters installed on the front bumper. I'm considering the M Performance front lip. My car is not lowered, and I will not lower it.

I have measured a few M3/M4s with the lip installed, and it's very low - approximately 4" clearance. That concerns me.

I'm looking for feedback from those with the M Performance lip installed. Personally, I do not want to be worried about every speed bump and/or inclined driveway. Will it be an issue for daily driving?

Also, after reading multiple threads, the installation appears to be a nightmare. Is this true (for those who have attempted it)?

Also, does anyone have experience with Scrape Armor on their M3. I'm not sure that's a viable option for me, since the carbon splitters are installed, and they change the lower bumper profile when installed. I'm pretty sure the Scrape Armor is designed for bumpers without the carbon splitters installed.

Thanks in advance.

Here for the replies. I'm interested in getting a lip too as it makes the car look mean, but have been told by some other forum members that it'll get torn up pretty quick...

If you are worried but want M Performance lip, get the plastic non-CF version. Then scrape it up to all hell.

My car is dropped 1 inch in front with a Lightweight lip, which pokes out quite a bit. I scraped way more when I was even lower, but it's such a strong lip it doesn't matter.

Only thing you need to worry about with a lip is getting too close to a curb when parking perpendicular to it. If you go too far and force the lip to bend, bad things can happen.

I have the M Performance lip (didn't install myself) and my cars lowered a little bit. I measured the height and it sits about 3.75 inches off the ground. I daily drive my car and where I live as long as I go in at an angle on driveways and dips I won't scrape it. I take speed bumps at a slight angle to be safe because I don't want to bash it against one and destroy the lip. As for protection go with Sliplo, I've heard great things about it

I figure the lip will get torn up too quickly. I'd feel pretty bad if I hit a curb and broke $1000 of CF, but not so bad if it was $300...

If you live in nyc which is full of potholes, you'd be a fool to buy a authentic lip. I've been through 2 already in my f80. The replica's look identical to the authentic ones. The fitment is a different story but you can make it work. You can't tell a difference so I don't get where the cheap look comes from.
