Anyone running Rear Coilover with Stock Sways - Is the swaybar touching the spring?
UDPATE: see post #5 for solution summary and post #1 for pic.
Installed MCS setup w/rear coilover; just noticed that the stock rear sway bar is rubbing against the spring on the coilover once the car is on the ground. I know that many are not running a rear coilver setup; has anyone experience this? any ideas? I have noticed that the Ohlin TTX would not have this issue simply because the spring is on upper side of the damper. Last edited by ninekrpm; 07-30-2016 at 09:08 AM.. |

There are two spacers/guides (one on each side) of the lower eye-bolt mount of the damper. This positions the damper in the lower control arm. MCS replaced these spacers/guides with two different lengths but still equaling the 60mm total width needed. This slightly (approximately by 10-12mm) moved the lower mounting angle away from the swaybar.
Hope this makes sense; I will post a picture shortly... FK |

ninekrpm do you have a photo of the top rear mount after you replaced the bottom with the offset bushings. Interested to know if you are getting any binding at the top with the rake in the damper. Wondering if it would be worthwhile getting a set of rear custom clevis's made to alter the mount point. ie: induce the same offset as the bottom.

I have put 29K miles over 4 years with this setup; no issues...just had the dampers re-serviced and added the rear sway and toe arms; everything checks out 🤙 |
