I'm from Uddevalla and worked in Goteborg for several years. Lanstrafikgruppen was very active on E6 those days which combined with gas prices and weather would make an M6 a bit frustrating.

Why? Because it is big, heavy, and has TOO much power. Also, it is an M car, but we all need to realize that there are different renditions of the M concept.

To me, the M6 is a bridge between the E92 I loved and the M4 i was hoping to replace it with, and got lucky to walk into this M6 deal.

The m6, GTR and 911 have outrageous prices. Everything just jumped the hell up.

Nope. I would consider the 991 (or the upcoming C7 Z06) if I had extra $

Ok,

I Have AW, all options except CCB. It looks awesome! In Sweden people are not car fashionistas, but this one gains attention and conversation from most all passerbys. Here you are more likely to get a thumbs up for your volvo V70 estate, it shows you are sensible and marriage material, LOL!

The car is VERY big. Parking is a problem, especialy here in europe. But it looks low and menacing. Interior is a spectacular place to be. B&O hifi system defies expectations, it is amazing.

Major issues I have are the steering response, comfort is too sloppy, and sport+ is titanic hard?? Also, I do hate the suspension, in all settings. When going over a wide speed bump, the front copes well, and then when the rear wheels touch the bump, the entire backend pogo-sticks like a mad kangaroo, and feels like rear end actually levitates off the surface of the road

The brakes are 15.5 inch, 6 piston at front. They are the size of pizza pies, but do nothing! The 2 piston ones on my e92 bit harder and sharper.

Hope that gives a good overview of the soul of an M6. An M car, but different.

Hmmmmmm.....I may have to drive one myself. If I'm putting that money on a car I better love it. Like someone said before, I'm a Bimmer fan but there are so many choices that in the end you have to sit and drive every one of them.

And I do love the Maserati although a bit underwhelmed by the power. Beautiful car but heavy and could use a bit more HP for that price tag. So many choices once you get in that price range....

Yes, the weight difference to an e92 is astonishing. And the difference to an M4 will be even more astonishing-erly. The diff is near 500 kilos, 1100 pounds, zomg!

I never track my cars but I felt my E60 M5 was the limit in terms of the weight a car can be and still be fun to drive (no matter what the power)

So I've decided to go down a size for my next car to allow it to be more agile (and so it will be a M3 or C63 AMG)

I would not entertain a near two tonne 'performance' car.

I would consider it but probably not buy it. At that price there are many options in the market. Mainly from Porsche. M6 is a nice car inside out but it is massive. I don't have a need for a massive 4 door. This is where the SUV comes in. Personally I want something that is mid size and doesn't weigh 2 tons. I would rather X5M than M6.

Typo, 2 door?

Totally agree re the X5 vs X6. As with the M5 and M6, I like practicality in big cars but of course to each their own.

not me. The M6 is beautiful, but I'd rather have the smaller M4 and pocket the extra money.

Based on stats alone I would prefer the M4 because it's a smaller and lighter car. For a little more money than the 6 I'd honestly just get a stripped 991 GT3. GTR maybe but I'm guessing the new generation is going to be around 150k

Sorry to hear that. I didn't think it was easy to steal a modern BMW car. Did the thief just tow the car away on a flatbed truck and didn't trigger the alarm?

The timing of this thread is funny because I have been asking myself the same question lately and staring at this picture... I think the conclusion I came to is that.. If I could comfortably afford an M6, I would definitely have one; but not instead of an M4. The M4 is just a much better car for someone like me who likes to daily drive it and take it to the track on the weekends. The price for performance and practicality difference just doesnt justify the cost for me even if I can afford it.

As I understand it, bmws up to 2011 are very vulnerable. Method is, crimms stay close to you and block your fob locking device. When you go away, they just open the door, and plug into the obd connector. Then the car computer actually gives the reader your immobilizer key code!! They save the code onto blank key fob, insert into car and just drive away. This happened middle of the day at a supermarket, and I was away no more than 10 minutes...

M6 looks anywhere between 4 to 5 thousand times better than the M4. Interior is stunning on that car, so comfortable and posh.

For that kind of scratch, though, since you're going for bling, I'd get an Aston Martin.
