Possible to do 2 do 2 rear or foreward facing car seats in back of M4?

     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Im not planning on doing this on the regular, but in the event of an emergency when the family car breaks, is it possible to fit 2 rear facing, or forward facing car seats in the back of an m4?

the rear facing is Mico Max 30, the forward facing is Greco 4ever dlx

for dads that have the greco 4ever, how do you like them in your M4? how much of a pain is it getting your kid in/out?

I assume you have the seats already since you named them - we don't know your seating position, why not try it out yourself?

We actually put a graco car seat(forget which model) in the back of my m4 for the first time to see if we could drive my car around with our 3 year old son. It fits, and works, but it’s a PITA. I didn’t think I’d mind taking him in and out of the car seat, but the roof is so low in the back and it’s really awkward trying to get him in and out. I’m about 5’11” and I can’t imagine taller guys being able to twist and turn their bodies to put their child in.

My son loves riding in the m4 so I may have to keep it back there, but keep in mind, the leather will have indentations from the car seat so protect it as best you can.

Maybe he doesn't have the M4 yet?

A forward facing car seat will take up significantly less room than anything rear facing. I'd be surprised if they would not fit when forward facing, unless you're extremely tall or your kiddos need a ton of leg room.

im 5' 10....do not have an M4 yet.

Yes I do already have the car seats....i dont imagine that the forward facing would be much of an issue. 90% of the time it would be 1 child riding with me, which i can put on the passenger side with the passenger seat pushed up. it'll only be rare emergency circumstances (when the family car breaks) that ill need both kids in the car at the same time, and by then i imagine they'll most likely be forward facing (they're rear facing now)

i imagine there's awkwardness getting my 3yo in/out of the back of a coupe...but if thats the worst of it, we can both deal

I have two car seats in my back- one for a toddler and one a booster for my other.

No issues with the kids getting in and out, plenty of space and to buckle in the toddler I put the passenger seat forward then step into the back and it's easy.

I have 3 kids - 2,6 and 8 and I regularly drive with all 3 in the car using the appropriate seats for each (8 yo up front and 2 and 6 in back)

The car also has car seat hooks in the back if you are interested...

This was the whole reason I got the m4 over another corvette....had to be able to cart the kids around as needed.

I have two little ones in car seats, and I've had a couple of coupes with them. It's most difficult when they are too small to be able to climb in themselves and physically get in the seat. The buckling is the relatively easy part, but when you need to do yoga to fit both you and the child into their seat, that's the pain point for me. As someone said, forward facing seats are easy. They take up less space, and by the time they are forward facing they are surely able to get in the seat themselves. I currently own a coupe smaller than an M4 (a GR86) and a forward facing seat fits behind me, though leg room is limited for the kiddo.

IMO, the only problem you'll potentially face is if you need to bring two rear facing car seats and a passenger, but I've never been in a 4 series before. It may be possible.

I had 2 front facing maxi cosi car seats (ages 4-6) in a M4 vert for a year, I'm 5'10" and needed to have my seat a tiny bit more forward than normal, those are bulkier seats than some. Now have 2 Diono full boosters in there, leg room for them now at 7&8 is getting a little tight.

I have the Sparco isofix seat for my 5 year old and she loves it.

Access is easy with the button to move the seat forward.

I've never tried to put a seat behind me but my 11 year sits behind me and no issues and I'm 6'3 and like the seat way back.
