F80 crank hub

Hello.
I have a 2017 F80 comp and am considering doing the 4 pin one piece crank hub….since the main crank hub issue is the bolt getting loose, should I still install the catcher plate for the bolt? And which one is the correct one for our cars? The 6 or the 8 bolts?
I know that probably there’s a ton of threads in here about it, but since I’m new to the forum, I need to post some stuff in order to PM other members…sorry.

Complete solution is both. Want the 8 pin version.

Thank you b_w.
8 pin you mean the catcher plate 8 bolt or a crank hub with 8 pins?

I would do more research. Lots of people have had issues with the bolt capture and many would say it's a waste of money and time. I (and many) don't believe the crank hub issue is with the bolt at all. I think the consensus would say that with just the bolt capture, you can still slip your crank hub - but with the 4-pin crank hub installed you'll never have a problem. IMHO, get the crank hub done, forget about the bolt capture.

Agree no need for capture plate and over time those screws get loose and sheer off as seen several people on here have that happen.

4 Pin Crank Hub is the way to go.

Thank you MaxOctane.
Definitely I’m doing the one peace 4 pin hub. I know that the hub issue envolves many factors, and specifically in cars like mine (70k miles) is more a friction disks problem then the bolt getting loose. I was just wondering, since I’m going to address the issue, what’s the best route.
