RS29 Uneven Pad wear

I have had 5 track days with the RS29 all around and I am noticing the outside pad on the front passenger and driver wearing more than the inside pad. The rears pads seem to be wearing evenly. I did not measure thickness but its a noticeable difference.

Anyone else have this issue?

I've had uneven wear with my RS29 but of a different nature than yours. I had a "slanted" wear pattern where the leading edge side had worn more than the trailing edge side of each of the front pads. I attribute this to the 4 piston arrangement of the front calipers. I now flip the pads inside out on each caliper to balance out the wear. As you, my rear pads wear nice and evenly.

That's what my plan was - flip inside and outside. My thought was the pad with the less amount of material will transmit more heat to the caliper and the corresponding side of the rotor. I was concerned with potential rotor warpage and overheating the brake fluid. Any thoughts?

Those rotors are quite beefy and stout, I would not worry about warping them.

I'd replace them. That taper is more than I've experienced.

I am concerned about the hassle of taking the caliper apart. Hoping it was just due to excessive heat and fluid boiling in different rate between two cylinders or something due to running thin resurfaced rotors.

Yeah I'd consider replacing them, probably only a few sessions left.

That taper is a bit more than I've experienced, but I've definitely ran into that issue on all the pad sets I've ran. Ultimately I decided to just replace the pads more often instead of running them down to 3mm or whatever (at the expense of $$$).

Yes! New pads and 2 piece slotted rotors (for stock calipers) are in the planning. So much money.

I have had some uneven wear on my hawk hp plus ( have counterweights) at the track also and have determine that because of the nature of the track and abs intervention as well as trail braking it's normal that some of the pads will wear differently

Also while turning the pads can lean to one side in the calliper causing a diagonal wear
Especially pads without counter weights

Rotating pads after ~10 sessions on same track or when you rotate tires can minimize the unevenness

Also driving MDM on or full systems can accentuate weird pad wear on race pads because of the braking intervention
