Rubbing issues Stock Suspension
Hey Guys,
Recently bought Vorsteiner VFF-107 Front: 20x9.5 ET22 Rear: 20x10.5 ET34 Wrapped in Michelin 4s 265/30/20 285/30/20 I'm having rubbing issues (worst in comfort, but still in sport+) when hitting dips at speed. It's hitting the fender front and rear. Did I screw myself with the offset, or can I fix this with some camber? Doesn't look like rolling fenders is an option (correct me if I am wrong) Much appreciated! -Adam |

I am lowered with 20x9.5 et 22 and 20x11 et 37 with 265/30 and 295/30 without any issues at all. Shocks are bad?

can shocks go bad in 18k miles? Ive always thought there wasnt enough difference from comfort to sport+.... unless the previous owner swapped some old shocks to bring it back to stock... any way to test?

Should I go 1 degree camber or? Would the alignment shop even be able to tell or is it trial and error? |

I'm wondering maybe 2 scenarios 1. Bad Shocks (car has 18k miles, but who knows if the previous owner ever replaced and maybe put old/worn out ones back on there) - Can the shocks be "tested"? 2. Camber Issue - The wheels and tires sit pretty much straight up and down, maybe that is not that stock camber? If I try 1* negative camber, will that greatly reduce my tire life or is it negligible? Hoping to solve this without buying new suspension... Really appreciate it guys... |

You found your issue already if your wheel is straight. Every RWD car has some negative camber.

Sure your offsets are F:22 and R:34?
Stock 20" wheels (same tyres) with 10mm spacers are F:19 and R:30 and there's miles of room on an M4 anyway. Sounds like your wheels may have more offset than what's specified. Even with 1/2" wider wheels, the outer rim protrusion is the same on the front as stock with 10mm spacers and the rear outer rim has 1mm less protrusion than stock with 10mm spacers. |

No way, those wheels have more offset or there's spacers behind them. Here's stock 20's with 10mm spacers with more offset and outer rim protrusion than what yours are supposed to be.

Interesting. Thank you guys.
Theres definitely no spacers. Could the Hubs be aftermarket? Im double checking with the guy I got the wheels from, hes a very straight up forum member. Given my situation, what would you guys do? Try the camber? If so, how much? |

I have a 19x11 +34 with 305/30's and they don't stick out like these. I am lowered on KW HAS and didn't touch my alignment settings, still withing factory spec after being lowered. I also have no rubbing. |

I agree. OP, I have 10.5 +30 in rear, which is more aggressive than you have, and I'm lowered, and I have 1 finger gap in rear between tire sidewall and inner fender. Zero rubbing. From your picture, either alignment is off or that offset is like a +20. Looks like the top of the wheel is outside the fender.

I'd physically measure the offset because the front also appear to be sticking out too far for a 22 offset. Some aftermarket wheels have a thick mounting pad to suit various makes and models and they're machined to suit specific vehicles. Almost like yours got the stickers but missed the machining process perhaps but I think you can get 15mm spacers on stock 20's without scraping and that's an offset 14 and 25 and sticks out way further than a 22/34 offset.

F80/F82 fitment isn't the same
4S running more wider than PSS You need more camber https://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1455391 |
