I never heard that before What part was boring. Here is my plan from lake Como towards the tale end of our trip.....doesn't seem boring on paper

Lake Como to Interlaken area via San Gottardo, Glesch, Grimsel Pass and Furka Pass - 5 hrs.

Next day, Interlaken to Zurich via Susten Pass.
I personally found the mountain passes from Interlaken to Como one of the highlights until I got to Andermatt and got stuck in GPS Hell and ended up on the main road in a very long wait to make our way through the Gotthard tunnel. GPS at one point had me in a panic turning onto what looked like a one lane road for two way traffic so I chickened out. The drive from Lugano to Lenno on Lake Como was too much for me (again 1.5 lanes for fast moving 2 way traffic. I just knew I was going to lose a side view mirror. Once I got to the hotel the car went into the underground garage until we left for Nice.

I heard that about the tunnel and that's why I am avoiding it altogether.

About the 1.5 lane roads I wonder if you were taking back roads. E35 looks like an awesome 4 lane highway with a divider in between.

OneRib My current plan is to go from Malcesine to Milan. Is a day trip possible in Venice or not recommended?

Oh Im sure your right. I got so screwed up I don't even know what I did or where I was coming off the Furka Pass. I just threw in the towel and took the tunnel

The route we took through Switzerland was boring because it was along the border of Austria and Liechtenstein going to Munich. Lots of highway travel. It was boring because the speed limits are so low. The mountain passes are great.

It's 2 hours in the wrong direction and you are taking a very small child. If you were going to stay overnight maybe, but not to run over say you were there and leave for Milan. Now if someone has their heart set on Venice, maybe you go for it anyway.

Yeah I saw the route right after I posted. Makes no sense unless I stay overnight in Venice. Dropping it.

Thanks.

Thanks

Bernhard was a great guy. Very patient and even offered to open up the i8 so my son could sit in it. It must be a fun job to have 99% of the time.

You'll like the hotel. Great location. I loved that I could just hop on the U3 line at Marienplatz to get to the Welt. Plus they have a Japanese style restaurant if you don't want to eat German food (which I found highly underrated).

There may be a correlation here.

Thanks for the incredible photos, and enjoy that AY monster when you get her back.
