BMW Cover for Reinforcement Plate (GTS)

Are there any advantages to having the BMW Cover for reinforcement plate (GTS)? Has anyone installed it?

First thought was it might benefit aero (or stiffen the chassis), but I can't imagine it being a $500+ upgrade.

I'd say it is for aero purposes only. The smoother the surface under the car, the faster the air travels and hence reduces the pressure under the car. I think the steel plate on the base M3/4 is sufficient for body stiffness.

That's pretty much what I had thought. I just can imagine it making that much of a difference. Thanks for chiming in!

that plate is just a thin composite about 5mm thick over top of the standard m3/m4 aluminium stiffing plate. It's there for airflow
