You need to complain to BMWNA (as some others have said) and perhaps have a talk with the GM of the dealership. If all else fails, take your business to another dealership. |

Oh I think I'll get satisfaction from the dealership. They're one of the BMW NA Gold Award dealers, and I'm sure they'd like to keep that status. We'll see.

My car also has a slight pull to the right as well. I feel like this is pretty normal for cars these days. Maybe taking into account how lots of us drive with our left hand on the wheel pulling a little on the wheel, ending up in a straight line???

Wow, I really thought I was the only one that is having this issue. Didn't know it's actually pretty wide spread. Either way, I'm having my dealer to take a look at mines. They won't charge me as long as I'm under 2000 miles.

This is a problem I am keeping an eye on.
It was a known problem with the F10's when they first came out. My car suffered through it. It took a lot of hassle on my part to get it fixed, and involved a software fix, rotating the springs in the mounts, and finally replacement of the upper steering column. Not to mention about 5 alignments. In the end, the car still wandered on the highway, but at least it didn't pull. Let's hope this is not a chronic issue. |

I've been running auto repair shops for too many years. When a car pulls left or right, and the alignment specs are good, and the tires pressures match, it's usually a "radial tire pull". The way to troubleshoot it, is to switch the front tires left to right, and see if it has an effect. If the tires have a directional rotation, switch them front to rear (if they're all the same size). The results usually bring a smile.

OK Milban I'll flip them L/R. The rears are a lot bigger, so I hope that does it. Thanks.

What's the best way to bring to BMWs attention (above the dealership level)? Seems to be affecting enough ppl (and also an issue that was addressed in other models) that BMW should start working on a solution but I don't think we should take it for granted that they know about it

Guys, when you say "pull to the right", if you remove your hands from the wheel, how long until the car changes lanes.
On my 535, it was between 2-3 seconds before I was more than 50% in the lane next to me. I think that closing in on 10 is to be expected with wide front tires and some camber in the road. Just curious. In my old car it was not a "hey look I'm sort of wandering over to the other lane I think I might want to grab some opposite lock to keep me going forward" it was "holy fuck I just changed lanes without turning the wheel!" |
