Loaner cars during service
Yet again I had a little 1 series hatch foisted upon me as a loaner while having my car serviced. I requested something more premium and they gave me a 440i GC which is just fine.
Does this happen to everyone? Are my expectations too high?

Eh if you request and wait and they still give you shit find a new dealer.
A lot of people will call one out on wanting nice things out of jealousy/laziness But if you demand something nicer, and you literally showed up to the service department at 10am. Then you are not being reasonable. Biggest problem here is BMW makes too many shitty cars now |

My BMW dealership stuffs me in weird things like Dodge Challengers, Infiniti Q50s, Cadillac SUVs.

Thanks all. I did come in at 10 but that was planned (late shift day prior).
I really liked the GC too - cruisy, long-legged vibe and superbly damped. Since the first post I spoke with my SA and we're going to arrange an M135 for next time - wanting you try one of those.

imo just take what you can get as long as it's clean and reliable, so imo yes expectations too high
nothing wrong with requesting certain vehicles if you are interested in purchasing or just curious i'm warming more and more to these lites, 340/440M, c43, s4/5 etc, they seem to offer the best compromise in a daily between sport and comfort for today's road conditions - they are damped how i remember the previous gen AMG's/M's |

They gave me an M340i this last time...I was impressed with the power delivery and the ride of course is much smoother than my F80 Comp Pac. Sadly i hated the grill, generic taillights and was not overly impressed with the new tech...got an Audi loaner a month ago and it was a 2020 SQ5 with tech that was very impressive.

i'm thinking about facelift s5 atm, new car has all the tech you need (massage seats, radar cruise/self steer, laser headlights) and brilliantly damped for the inner city roads i use everyday i turo'd both s5 and rs5 when i was in LA and couldn't believe how well s5 dealt with all the rough and broken roads on 20's |
