Rust Water Stains
Hello Everyone I wanted to know if anyone has any recommendations in removing hard rust water stains? I park in an underground parking and the pipes above my spot leaked on to my M4 and 330i while i was away. Anyone experience this before? Thanks in Advance

First try an all purpose cleaner or water spot remover. Then an iron remover... like Carpro IronX. Then clay it. Then you will likely need to compound it. You are going to want to use a DA polisher if the chemical and clay decontamination don’t work. For most people, that means a pro detailer.
You might want to request that your building management pay for that. You should be able to park without crap leaking all over your paint and ruining it. |

Oh that sucks, looks like a pro detailing shop and a insurance claim..
Good Luck .

Curious... Did a good wash do anything? I assume you tried car detergent and then dishwasher soap?
Did your car(s) have any semblance of a wax coat? How long was the rusty water left on? Like others mentioned, I would go right to the polisher on this, but if the finer compounds don't do the job, I'd probably go to a pro before I get too deep. |

I will definitely try that, i have reported it to the owner of the building and he wants to inspect the damage himself to make sure he's liable for it...

Well that is a crock of s***... he cannot make a liability determination unless he is self-insured (which is highly unlikely). Ask for his insurance details or sue. Tender a letter to him and his insurer after taking the car to a reputable detailer along with a written cost estimate from the detailer.

My sister had a similar situation. A pipe leaked onto her car in her apartment complex's garage and left some stains, but not as much as yours. Idk what exactly it was that stained the car but she gave it to me to try to fix and I was able to buff it all out. Hopefully that's all you need as well

So After a week or two, he decided he will pay for the damages. Took it over to the guys at Burbank Auto Detail they did a pretty good job and a decent price as well.

What fixed the problem? Was it a regular wash? Water spot remover? Iron decontamination? Clay? Polishing?
