I’m no engineer but can someone explain how this works? When I think of a spline extractor (the thing to use to remove stripped screws), the extractor is conical shaped to wedge into the cylindrically drilled hole and when turned it locks in with the pressure due to the wedge and the splines biting in. How would this wedge into the crank and therefore have the splines “bite” into the crank snout? We aren’t adding material to the hub so it can’t wedge in can it?
Please excuse me if I’m totally off. Just trying to learn. |

My local shop in Arizona is 95$ an hour and they have done many turbo swaps engine builds etc.

In the other thread someone mentioned 8 hours of labor (I think he called VTT). The video mentions $2000 for labor so they are charging $250/hr labor rate. Isn't this too high? Can anyone recommend any shops in Bay Area or even in SoCal that can do this install with more reasonable pricing?
