NBO Evo ID4 to ID6 retrofit -- 4G/GPS cable question

Hello, all. I have a 2016 F83 (March 2016 build) with NBT Evo ID4 and I have bought an NBT Evo ID5 head unit (HW version 3.2) to retrofit in. The ID5 head unit lacks the blue GPS input, while I believe my existing ID4 head unit (HW version 2.3) has the GPS input. Important fact: The 4G combox/ATM is already installed and running, so obviously the wiring necessary to make it work is already in place.

My question: Considering that I already have the 4G combox/ATM installed and running, is the GPS port on my existing head unit even in use any more? I am trying to figure out if the absence of the GPS input on the ID5 head unit that I plan to install will be a problem or not.

Put another way, my understanding from reading many forum posts is that the 4G ATM effectively supersedes the GPS cable for telematics services because the new architecture provides GPS signal through ATM through the OABR port. Is this correct? Thank you in advance for your advice!

Thanks. Good to hear. And you and I already have a WhatsApp conversation going on about doing the coding for this when i've installed it--probably next weekend sometime, if that's okay with you.

Update. For those interested, I installed the new head unit (HW 3.2), and kubax86 updated it to ID6 and coded it to my car. It works perfectly. And, as it turned out, my original ID4 head unit (HW 2.3) also lacks the blue GPS input! Hope this helps anyone else considering the same upgrade.
