OP just return the money to the humbertin0 and call it a day. You probably think keeping the money would teach him a lesson and even if he was a scammer (which sounds like he isn't) it makes you no better than him.

WORD! It's more than likely that OP spends most of his busy lifestyle trying to regain control of his BMW forum account information and figuring contradictory statements to the max.

I was a little thrown off by a down payment on a lease of 24k. Could have put that money in some sort of investment account. Rule #1 of leasing a car, is never put big money down. I smell some serious bullshit down but I will sit back and eat some popcorn and be happy that I already have a M4 that I love so much.

OP how can you be scammed when you have the $1,000 deposit in your hands??? The buyer is in MI and you are in CA, the buyer offered to meet you in person which was suggested by BMW FS and you backing out simply puts a big red flag in this transaction. Plus I won't blame the buyer for not going forward given all the inconsistencies on your posts and you yourself admitting your account being hacked/compromised. OP right now you have zero credibility on this forum, have some decency and give his money back.

Yeah, he did. And we're going to go to court for the money. He knows why. He's not getting a single penny from me. I will take him to court and I rather pay my attorney, then have this prick get his way.
