Bought stolen M4
So I recently purchased a theft recovery f82 from the auctions and to my surprise the car was in pretty dang good condition. It needed a new trunk lid and rear bumper paint but other than that, whoever stole it took pretty good care of the thing. The brakes were rusted being an east coast (Chicago) car sitting outside but got a new set of OEM brakes going on. Oil seems to be in good shape and all systems check good. No weird noises of any sort. Also, it had almost brand new tires (the wheels need some love though). Curious to see if this happens to be an old car of one of you forum member? Let me know if you happen to come across this post! Also, blacked out lights with new lenses going on in case anyone is hurt by the tint on there currently lol.

Sometimes a theft recovery is a great buy.
Good luck with the car.

It really just depends the condition but it's safe to say mid 20s but you're going to have to put some work into them. I think after all is said and done I will be in the low to mid 30k on this one. This is my first auction car so I'm not expert by any means but I do watch them a lot and have bid on another few that were too risky for the money.

You either need to be licensed or pay a broker to bid on your behalf.

So what are the specs on the car.
Year, miles, etc. Kind of curious because it might be a great way to create a F8x striped caged track car.

It is a 2015 base with 62,xxx miles. All the bells and whistles that year came with (probably wouldn't matter if you're turning it into a track car). It's definitely a good route to go with a track car. It's a bit of a gamble because you don't get to thoroughly go through the car before buying. There are plenty of cases of blown motors, frame damage, electrical nightmares etc. that I'm sure no one wants to encounter. I could have got one for 3k less but it wasn't a run and drive. I couldn't chance that lol.

When did Chicago move to the East Coast? And here I thought it was in the Midwest...

You can call it whatever you want. I'm from CA so anything past Texas is east coast to me lol. It should be called Mideast but here we are.

It's all about perspective… if you were to fly across Asia and the pacific, it would be east for you as well 🙃
