Great question. Session 4 lap 4 at MSR Houston September 12, 2020. I logged IAT temps. The max IAT temp that day was during that lap which was 129F, the low was 102 (first lap). The high that day was 94F with a real feel of 98F.

I don’t have a frame of reference for what those numbers mean (ie: IAT should fall within x degrees of ambient air). If anyone does, please post.

Hey Imran, do you all have an ETA on the J Pipe?
Cheers.

Without being completely obnoxious, I need 100% kevlar red under the hood. Whats the eta for charge pipes getting the "big red" treatment?

We have had some delays on the production on the J Pipe. Hope to have it ready to go by the end of this year.

It will not be made in any coloured Kevlar material as it is unable to take the heat required.

Is there a max boost pressure that should be called out with using these?

I have them in the Evolve shop car running 29 PSI for a while now including a fair few 0-195 MPH runs at VMAX events and many 60-130mph pulls.

Holding up well so far.

I apologize for being obnoxious in the previous post and I kind of suspected this was the case. You guys are putting together the sexiest gear, so keep it up! This will be a Christmas gift to myself. Cheers!

Imran@Evolve I just want to make sure I'm not missing something here.

A friend and I installed these on his car, following instructions to a T. The charge pipes have blown off 4 times now (cracked his engine cover the first time) on BM3 stage 2 (not that much boost...). All clamps are tight, bolts on lower aluminum flanges are tight. Charge pipes are seated in the silicone coupler grooves.

Just curious if you have any tips/advice to help keep the boost in the pipes or if we're missing something here. Thanks!

Did you tighten them again after the engine was hot? The couplers will soften with heat and your clamping force will not be the same when you drive the car.

I've experienced this a bunch of times before with these type of charge pipes haha… you gotta tighten cold then retighten with some heat in the engine bay.
